I need to make a cake for a picnic. Am looking for an easy and delicious tray bake recipe. I love Mary Berry recipes but anything easy and fail safe is fine.

Trey Bake sounds like a comedy character name. That’s made me laugh this morning.

This carrot cake is brilliant and impossible to stuff up. It’s easily transportable because it has water icing rather than cream cheese frosting.

I'm a big fan of marshmallow rice crispy tray bake, rocky road and tiffin but then I am no baker and they are no bake types! Otherwise I love a school style sprinkle topped cake. I like to make it with vanilla sponge, pink icing and sprinkles.

Don't have the book but Ed Kimbers book One Tray Bakes could be a good place to start. Really cool concept, all recipes in the book are made in the same 9x13 tin.
