Really looking forward to a chicken & spinach curry later although DD is bound to be upset as there's no Naan bread.

What's everyone else having?

I'm so bored of proper food. I really want to go out for food 😭 As that isn't happening we are having a tapas stylee dinner. Ribs, wings, deep fried feta balls, southern fried chicken, salad, wedges and coleslaw. I'm hoping that satisfies my need.

Think I'm just bored of cooking! So I've come up with a plan, I'm getting the others to do it, although I did cook the curry tonight but only because the last time DH cooked it, he ruined it.

Next week I've got the DC cooking a night each and what they've chosen sound nice then I'll rope DH in for a few more nights Smile

Not much in, chicken curry with rice and some chickpeas. Really searching at the back of the cupboards for this one 😂. Must go shopping tomorrow.

Cheeseburger quiche, jacket potato, cowboy beans.

Xiaoxiong · 30/01/2021 18:06

Was meant to be lasagne made by DS1 for foodtech homework, but we got started too late. So instead it's pork chops baked with beetroot, apples, caraway and paprika with sour cream and dill on the side.

I only had raw beetroot so gave them a 30 min headstart in the oven and they are still like rocks Angryso it will be a late dinner after all. (Not as late as the lasagna would've been though) just time for another episode of Lupin!

Have you never had steamed sausages and onions 😉
Brown your Square Sausage in a pan and remove them.
Soften the onions
Put sausages back in with onions add bisto and leave to cook for 30 mins.[/quote]
☺️🙂😋

Tallybeebloom · 30/01/2021 18:20

Sausage and apple traybake with roast potatoes here. This is the recipe we use. It's so tasty!

Beef short ribs in a mushroom pepper sauce. It's been slow cooking since 4.30 and I'm about to put some mash and veg on to have with it. I'm very excited.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 30/01/2021 18:39

I’ve made moussaka from Jamie’s Veg book. Whether that’s what we actually eat for tea or not remains to be seen once it’s out of the oven... my attempts at Jamie’s recipes have on the whole not been very successful, I’ve found the Hairy Bikers much better.

Can you tell I’m a novice and trying to build up my cooking ability?!

Icequeen01 · 30/01/2021 18:47

We are having a broccoli and cauliflower cheese sprinkled with some crispy bacon. Not very exciting but it's the first thing I have been able to cook in 18 days as I have been really poorly with Covid. It's ridiculous but it feels like such a positive sign that I'm on the mend!

That's not ridiculous at all. So glad you're in the mend Thanks

Quorn mushroom escalope with mashed potatoes and courgette bake

Icequeen01 · 30/01/2021 19:05

Thank you @JiltedJohnsJulie - I've just finished eating and couldn't manage a huge portion but it was so nice to have a little bit of home cooked food. My DH is fab around the house BUT dear God he's rubbish at cooking 😀

Enlighten me! I have never heard of a cheese burger quiche, I can’t say it really appeals but I’m willing to be educated!

And also, how can you have square sausages? I’ve only ever come across sausage shape sausages or those ones twisted around into a spiral.

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 30/01/2021 19:31

Mine wasn't very exciting. Chicken noodles with a slice of plastic cheese melted on top and crushed up smoky bacon crisps on top. It was lovely though

lastqueenofscotland · 30/01/2021 19:42

Mushroom, pea and leek risotto with asparagus on the side

MindfulBitch · 30/01/2021 20:09

Lamb
Chorizo
Potatoes
Truffle cauliflower cheese

Cannot wait I love truffle.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 30/01/2021 20:14

We had crushed corn risotto with chicken goujons and green salad.

MindfulBitch · 30/01/2021 20:17

@LadyMonicaBaddingham

Please can you tell me how to make crushed corn risotto?

Any chance of a pic so I know what I'm aiming for?

PurpleDaisies · 30/01/2021 20:21

We had butternut squash risotto turned into a Saturday night meal with nice things on the side-chargrilled artichokes, pine nut and rocket salad, posh olives and garlic bread. It was lovely.

mamaduckbone · 30/01/2021 21:41

We had Singapore noodles from the 'save with Jamie' book followed by cookie dough ice cream.
