Epic spicy food/snack suggestions

Doing a movie marathon with DP this weekend and we both love spicy food (think 'blow your socks off' kinda spice). It's great getting curries and Thai food etc, but I have no 'go to' spicy snacks. It's always crisps with dip and nice bread with oil/balsamic vinegar. Nice, but no spice. Can anyone suggest some super spicy (vegetarian) snacks?

I find the sensations Thai sweet chilli nuts nicely spicy but my favourite curry is a korma so my opinion is probably irrelevantGrin what about making your own spicy wedges with dip or spicy roasted chickpeas?

TheSpottedZebra · 05/11/2020 20:08

Wasabi peas?

Sexnotgender · 05/11/2020 20:09

Jalapeño poppers?

throwaway10000 · 05/11/2020 20:11

No idea about super nice...but for a bit of fun why don’t you try one of those hot food challenges? Like the one chip challenge or the really spicy noodles and see if either of you can handle it!

Thai prawn crackers
Cofresh chilli and lemon grills (spicy crisps)
Nachos with jalapeños
Bombay mix

Glastonbury2020 · 05/11/2020 20:16

Bombay mix

PurpleDaisies · 05/11/2020 20:18

I could eat Bombay mix by the bucketful.

If you’re cooking, Bosh cauliflower wings made with hot sauce are fantastic.

LoeliaPonsonby · 05/11/2020 20:20

Cofresh spicy Balti mix
Snyder’s Jalapeño pretzel bites.

EssentialHummus · 05/11/2020 20:20

You need the ethnic food aisle at big supermarkets for Chevda mix, Cofresh snacks etc.

IgorThalia · 05/11/2020 20:21

Bombay Mix is definitely not my idea of spicy, but very nice Grin - same with jalapeños. Could eat them by the bucketful. Nice but mildly spicy to me. Think I need to hold back on the spicy food and lower my tolerance!

Will check out cofresh!

Cofresh chilli and lemon grills!
Or basically any crisps from the world food section of the supermarket (especially the Indian section)
LOVE spicy snacks!

QueenPaws · 05/11/2020 20:28

Wasabi peanuts! If you see the ones in the tin in the world foods section they're usually hotter
These are the best, I get them in bulk

EastBoundAndDown · 05/11/2020 20:30

Tikha Gathia, kenyan chevdo, atom bombs - you can only find the good stuff at Indian sweetmarts which tend to close between 5-7pm
Shouldershrugger · 05/11/2020 20:39

Try adding diced red onions and sliced chillies to the bombay mix. Its called a chanachor chaat. Delicious

Shouldershrugger · 05/11/2020 20:41

Or make a dip type thing using mustard oil, sliced chillies, coriander, mint, cucumber and red onions and add it to puffed rice. Its called jaal moori. One of my favourite things to snack on. You can make it as hot as you want it.

Oblomov20 · 05/11/2020 20:44

Following with interest. I need spicy snacks.

devildeepbluesea · 05/11/2020 20:45

Yeah world food aisle snacks - Cofresh do some banging ones!

Also - nachos? Load of Doritos, sprinkle with paprika, cover with cheese and bung in oven for a bit til the cheese melts. Then slather over homemade hot salsa, sour cream, guacamole. Lush.

Blue5238 · 05/11/2020 20:46

Mr Singh's crisps. You have to order online so maybe not in time for this weekend but they are properly spicy. And really yummy!

TartanPyjamas · 05/11/2020 20:49

Another vote for Snyder's jalapeño pretzel pieces, they're addictive.

What about making your own popcorn with hot smoked paprika/cayenne/chilli powder?

Cantchooseaname · 05/11/2020 20:49

Wasabi peas.
Make my eyes water. I love it.

Ligglepiggle · 05/11/2020 20:51

Carolina repear chilli snack pack from Amazon Halloween Angry

Notstayingup · 05/11/2020 21:00

I like the Co fresh lemon grills, jalapeño crisps and balti cashews - I order them from my local Tesco
