Weekly meal plan

LadyPrigsbottom · 05/07/2020 15:35

I'm planning meals in advance a bit more, as it helps me stay on top of things, diet-wise and just feeling more organised in the week. Also means fewer trips to the supermarket.

I wondered if anyone would like to share weekly meal plans on here? I'd love to see what others are planning as I'm always looking for ideas.

Here is mine for next week:

Mon: chicken curry, rice and naan
Tue: chickpeas with dates & almonds, with couscous
Wed: gammon in cider with honey and mustard, jacket potatoes and salad
Thu: spicy peanut tofu, spinach and rice
Fri: pasta bake with meatballs

May I join in?
I don't have a meal plan yet! Depends what comes in my shop today 🙈 but I need to get back into a routine!

LadyPrigsbottom · 05/07/2020 15:37

Yes of course! The more the merrier Smile.

Thanks for these!

Should have said:

Next Saturday: whatever we don't have on the Friday!

That's the full week. You can tell I'm out of practice Wink.

Great thread!

For us:

Monday: jackets with fillings and salads
Tuesday: 7 veg bolognese
Wednesday: chicken cacciatore
Thursday: sticky chilli chicken and rice
Friday: burgers with home made chips and corn on the cob
Saturday: home made curry with all the trimmings
Sunday: roast beef lunch

Still need to shop for all the above!

BlingLoving · 05/07/2020 16:00

I keep meaning to join one of these threads.

Today: roasted tomato, spaghetti ans burrata (avocado if ripe but not holding much hope).
Monday: jacket potatoes with tuna and broccoli
Tuesday: roasted cauliflower with pilaf
Wednesday: quiche with salad
Thursday: baked chicken with new potatoes
Friday: takeout
Saturday - TBD

I might swap quiche and potato day as think salad needs to be used up sooner.

Great thread!

Thanks Grin! I saw something similar on here ages ago and it was so useful for ideas. Have to remember to pop back on next week before we do the food shop and harvest meal ideas!

@thisstooshallpass - I've never really mastered Gnocchi. Do you buy it premade? And what's the difference between baking it and boiling it? I like the idea of trying it again but I can't work out if I just cook it badly or don't like gnocchi because it never really works out for me!

I attempted to make it myself once but I ended up with a pan of watery mashed potato.

I buy the the packets now, just the plain stuff. I like how it crisps up when baked.

OneIsAWorldOfBooks · 06/07/2020 16:03

Yesterday should’ve been chicken roast dinner, but the chicken was off so last night we had the chilli, nachos and guacamole that was meant for tonight.

Today - toad in the hole with the veg that should’ve been used yesterday.

Not decided what days we’re having what yet and need to go shopping soon but the rest of the week we have stuff for:
Leek, courgette and mozzarella quiche.
Fish pie.
Roasted vegetable risotto.
Halloumi something, either skewers or pasta probably.

I’m usually much more organised than this but have just returned to work (albeit from home) and my meal planning has gone to shit.

SpikeLeesLeftKnee · 07/07/2020 15:28

Clearing out the fridge and trying to keep up my lockdown mantra of wasting less, so this week we’re having:
Courgette and black bean tacos
Saag aloo
Butternut squash and broccoli sticky rice w cashews
‘Freezer roulette’ meal
And maybe homemade pizza (if I can be bothered to make the dough ahead of dinner time!)

Saladd0dger · 11/07/2020 13:43

Tomorrow we are starting the week off with a slow cooked beef joint, veg and yorks And rice pudding.
Mon: jackets beans tuna and salad

LadyPrigsbottom · 11/07/2020 14:39

Yum! All of these sound lovely.

I've just been doing a little stock take, before I start planning for the week!

FuckyNel · 11/07/2020 14:45

Here are my last two - I basically went through the fridge, freezer and cupboards and then planned around them. I know it’s not fancy but it seriously relieves the pressure

Such a good idea. Sorry, zero input here at the moment, until I get myself organised. I need to do a fridge and larder audit! I keep meaning to do weekly meal plans. I threw out some leftover roast gammon yesterday from the weekend and then realised if I'd been smart it could have made a carbonara with it :-(

LadyPrigsbottom · 11/07/2020 15:06

Sunday: roast dinner / BBQ / something else - not sure yet!
Monday: sweet and sour tofu & egg fried rice
Tuesday: homemade cheese and broccoli quiche
Wednesday: naice hotdogs (fancy chicken and apricot sausages in baguette)
Thursday: creamy chicken, bean and leek traybake, with bread for dipping
Friday: 'make your own' pizza
Saturday: homemade chicken dippers with air fried potatoes and salad
