Do you stick to the same old cheeses each year or do you try new ones out?
Tell me the ones you love the most.

Dolcelatte
Blacksticks Blue
Somerset Brie
Cornish Cruncher
Wensleydale (maybe with fruit in it)

LittleReindeer · 21/12/2019 22:24

Cornish Cruncher. We only get it at Christmas because it’s twice the price of the other cheese.

GlamGiraffe · 21/12/2019 22:24

Membranillo is most important, it makes everything wonderful. St felicien is a bit wonderful though!

gaggiagirl · 21/12/2019 22:25

We always stick to a hard cheese a soft cheese and a blue cheese. Cheddar, brie and stilton usually.

MrsTumbletap · 21/12/2019 22:26

Garlic crackers

AhoyMrBeaver · 21/12/2019 22:28

Sage Derby.

AnneLovesGilbert · 21/12/2019 22:28

Cambozola, Stilton, Godminster cheddar, Somerset Brie.

With grapes, oat cakes, pickled courgettes, red onion chutney and dried apricots.

MrsTumbletap · 21/12/2019 22:28

This was also the best thing EVER but they don't seem to do it this year, Boxing Day cheeseboard will never be the same again!

If anyone manages to find this please let me know.

We have way too many because ewe all like different things! I think I've counted 12 cheeses...

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/12/2019 22:30

Bought our cheese today. We have a Bath blue, Somerset brie, extra mature cheddar, a smoked cheese, a hard goats cheese. Don't usually do cheese with bits in, but we do have a green thunder, which has garlic and chive I think.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/12/2019 22:31

And I made Christmas chutney, which has apple and cranberry and lots of spices

MustardScreams · 21/12/2019 22:36

Chaorce for super creamy delectable goodness.
Brie de meaux for stinky gooeyness.
Appleby’s Red Cheshire for tangy, salty, crumbly yum.
Rosary Ash for goat cheese
Pecorino for sheep/salt/hard
Gorgonzola dolce/piccante depending on how strong you like it.
Stilton! Christmas essential.
A flavoured cheese if you absolutely must.

The best crackers you can find
Quince or guava paste
Truffled honey
Frozen grapes
Celery that has had the outside peeled so there’s no grim strings.

midsomermurderess · 21/12/2019 22:41

I bought Epoisses, Stilton and Roquefort today.

Longdistance · 21/12/2019 22:42

Mature cheddar
Gorgonzola or Roquefort
Austrian smoked cheese
Brie or Camembert
Onion chutney or Plum chutney
Nairn’s oatcakes
Digestive crackers
Grapes
Olives
Balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil for dipping

🍑 < my bottom

Lololololola · 21/12/2019 23:46

Normally would go for blue, rinded, goat, smoked, random and plain for a general cheeseboard. If post dinner party, prefer 3 large pieces ratger than lots of smaller bits. Plus variety of crackers (my preferred is water biscuits) with some fruit, a chutney and some membrillo.
Was recently given a Bleu D'affinois which was fabulous - @AnnelovesGilbert like a softer camozola. It was from waitrose.

thewinkingprawn · 21/12/2019 23:51

Montagnolo - best cheese ever (blue, soft)

Thesuzle · 21/12/2019 23:54

Black Bomber people, what’s wrong with you all
And Bois de Bourgogne think that’s how is spelt, very very creamy

BlouseAndSkirt · 21/12/2019 23:58

Vignotte
Comté
Taleggio (or similar)

MiniMum97 · 22/12/2019 00:03

Godminster cheddar. Oh my god it's the best cheese ever. And they are now doing a smoked version!

PoultryBallot · 22/12/2019 00:06

@MrsTumbletap they also did a gorgeous finest ketchup but no more.

PoultryBallot · 22/12/2019 00:08

Blue Vinny, when my dad was a very young boy it came with hoppers which if you got one was a special treat Crown Shock

MeanMrMustardSeed · 22/12/2019 00:11

Cornish Yarg. And more Cornish Yarg.

Lolly34h · 22/12/2019 15:57

I've never done a cheeseboard before this christmas I have. We have a goats cheese, a wensleydale, gruyere, a strong cheddar and a brie. Also got a camembert to put in the oven also

BrieAndChilli · 22/12/2019 16:09

We love cheese
So far I’ve got
Y fenni- it’s got mustard seed in
Black sticks blue
Brie
A cheese with walnuts in
Mexican cheese
Cheese with pickle in
Some ring cream cheese thing eith pineapple that DD wanted
Smoked ‘sausage’cheese
Some star shaped cheese that DD likes the look of (because of the shape!)
Wensleydale with cranberry (again for DD)

Will probably pick up a couple more tomorrow - a blue cheese, a boursain, and a nice cheddar

FamilyOfAliens · 22/12/2019 19:36

Montagnolo - best cheese ever (blue, soft)

Couldn’t agree more.

I get it at the farm shop and am crossing my fingers that they have some tomorrow!
