How to rescue bolognese with too much fresh corriander in it?

FATEdestiny · 04/11/2019 18:33

I made a double batch of my usual bolognese tonight. Except a bag of fresh corriander was on the reduced shelf in Tesco today, so I added a good handful, chopped.

Kids hate it Sad

So, what could I do with the other half of the double batch?

Normally I just freeze the other half for next week. What can I turn it into that would disguise the corriander flavour?

Make it into a chilli

CottonSock · 04/11/2019 18:36

Chilli, I wouldn't put coriander in Bolognese

LesLavandes · 04/11/2019 18:36

Oh. I think coriander would completely change the taste. My thoughts are to change it into a curry as coriander is often used in curries and mince too

SoyDora · 04/11/2019 18:39

Chilli

Cornishmumofone · 04/11/2019 18:59

If your children don't like coriander then nothing will rescue it. I hate fresh coriander and can always tell when there is some in a meal.

drumandthebass · 04/11/2019 19:01

Why would you put coriander in spaghetti bolognese?

Turn it into chilli like others have said

APerkyPumpkin · 04/11/2019 19:02

Why would you add coriander to a spag bol?

Bofster37 · 04/11/2019 19:03

Coriander doesn’t go in a spag bol Confused in fact I can’t imagine anything worse

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/11/2019 19:03

Coriander in spag bol?Confused
I'm not sure it can be rescued, coriander is a very love it/hate it food.

Jenala · 04/11/2019 19:06

Sorry but I'm laughing at the thought of coriander in a bolognese. Why?? Like pps have said, turn it into a chilli

PurpleDaisies · 04/11/2019 19:08

I’d add curry paste to make it a keema.

formerbabe · 04/11/2019 19:09

I love coriander but definitely not in Bolognese!

It's nice with chilli...add some kidney beans and some chilli powder.

behindlocknumbernine · 04/11/2019 19:09

Turn it into a keema curry!

Auntyfannybaws · 04/11/2019 19:12

I would put curry powder in and have a lovely mince curry x

EleanorReally · 04/11/2019 19:24

kidney beans, carrots, chickpeas,
chili con carne voila

EleanorReally · 04/11/2019 19:25

and just eat it yourself, so portion up accordingly

mumwon · 04/11/2019 19:27

the more you cook coriander the weaker the taste same as any herb (excepting rosemary it got hard seeds!) - but seriously as other pp state chilli con carne or curry (but keep cooking it!)

WeeDangerousSpike · 04/11/2019 19:28

I love coriander, but it doesn't go in bolognese! Basil op, that's what you wanted Wink

Anyway, turning it into chilli is the answer. Kidney beans and one of those spice sachets and jobs a good un.

mumwon · 04/11/2019 19:28

& don't tell the dc that it has any coriander in it!!!!!

MiltonRoad · 04/11/2019 19:30

Add cumin kidney beans and some chilli powder and serve with baked tortilla nachos /guacamole

Or add curry powder and serve with rice and mango chutney

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/11/2019 19:43

Span1elsRock · 04/11/2019 19:57
