Friday Night Dinner - what are you having?

I'm making coriander chutney chicken curry from Meera Sodha's Made in India cookbook, and my DH will be frying up some poppadoms - proper Friday food! If we still lived in the UK we'd definitely be having Indian takeaway instead but we have no decent Indian takeaways here so have to make do with cooking them. Not the same but still very tasty!

What's everyone else having for dinner tonight??

Burgers, chips and coleslaw!

luckygreeneyes · 27/09/2019 17:12

Just ordered Chinese, early for us but the kids want in on it

KellyHall · 27/09/2019 17:13

Fish and chips - we live in England, what else is there to say?!

Disfordarkchocolate · 27/09/2019 17:14

An eclair (I had a very late lunch), possibly some homemade dhal if it's not ready too late, just to check how it tastes Smile.

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/09/2019 17:15

Pizza topped aubergine and salad

graziemille567 · 27/09/2019 17:17

@KellyHall oh god I miss fish and chips! With a pot of curry sauce on the side too. Grin

Mince and dumplings with tenderstem broccoli with mash, carrots and mushy peas. Followed by home made cornflake tart and custard!😍

RachJx · 27/09/2019 17:20

Home made lasagne, I started cooking it at 12pm 😍

MrsPear · 27/09/2019 17:22

Homemade tacos. Can't wait - it smells delicious!

wonderpants · 27/09/2019 17:24

Nice bit of squirrel and crimble crumble.

Sorry- couldn't help it! Love that programme.

Thegirlhasnoname · 27/09/2019 17:25

Spaghetti and meatballs. With the weather outside though I wish it was stew and dumplings!

Thirtyrock39 · 27/09/2019 17:26

Since giving up meat takeaways have sadly lost their appeal so my Friday night treat easy tea has now become a posh fish pie ready meal with a large wine on the side - no one else in my family likes fish pie so for me it's a rare treat and proper comfort food - got to be a 'luxury' one though - last week had to have a 99p admirals pie which was a bit bleak

MissTicPizza · 27/09/2019 17:26

It's Friday so that means chippy tea!

dingit · 27/09/2019 17:26

A bag of crisps, a baby bel and some melon. Going to look after dm after her chemo which makes her poorly. After mopping up various body fluids I can't stomach much else. Very jealous of all those delicious sounding meals Envy

graziemille567 · 27/09/2019 17:31

Sorry to hear that @dingit , sounds tough. Thanks

Beetroot ravioli (from Waitrose) with greek salad and garlic bread, we are entertaining vegetarian friend.

WelshMoth · 27/09/2019 17:34

Curry takeaway. Lamb saag.
Although I love the sound of your homemade curry OP! Off to research recipe.

Makegoodchoices · 27/09/2019 17:39

Spatchcock garlic and herb chicken, buttered new potatoes, broccoli, carrots, sugarsnaps. DC as ever were disappointed that it wasn’t pizza. Hmm

Tweetingmagpie · 27/09/2019 18:12

I’ve made Mary berry’s fish crumble after I saw her make on her show at the weekend, it’s in the oven cooking.

I did plan to make it tomorrow for all of us (me, dh and 6 kids) but the fish goes off today so had to make it tonight for me dh and youngest daughter who is 8 months.

Love reading what everyone else is eating it gives me ideas 💡

Ha! I had that lunchtime at work so I guess something on toast - spaghetti hoops I think Yum!

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 27/09/2019 18:39

I'm making a lovely korma with a jar of sauce from aldi because they are the nicest ever. bit worried about the "broccoli rice" I bought to go with it Hmm

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/09/2019 18:40

Breaded chicken, chips and peas

muddledmidget · 27/09/2019 18:46

A cheese sandwich, made with slightly mouldy crusts of a loaf as that was all that was left. Have been doing the rounds of macmillan cake sales all day too, so now feel bloated and slightly unwell!
