Friday Night Dinner - what are you having?

I'm making coriander chutney chicken curry from Meera Sodha's Made in India cookbook, and my DH will be frying up some poppadoms - proper Friday food! If we still lived in the UK we'd definitely be having Indian takeaway instead but we have no decent Indian takeaways here so have to make do with cooking them. Not the same but still very tasty!

What's everyone else having for dinner tonight??

Friday is always movie night with some delicious greasy food, so homemade buttermilk chicken burgers, homemade fries (getting the fryer out tonight!), made some coleslaw, and will have corn on the cob, and I've made blue cheese dip and dill and parmesan dip for the fries.

Bloody starving, my dad and his wife came round so I didn't start cooking until 6.30.

I made macaroni cheese, it was delicious!

DC had (all toddlers so they eat early due to bedtime) pesto cod, sweet potato mash, broccoli, carrots.

Me and dh will later have, chicken breasts in a white wine and cream sauce, potato wedges, tender stem broccoli. Glass of wine too

Lots of broccoli eaten tonight by mumsnetters! We had broccoli and green beans with our fish crumble ( which was delicious but there was t anywhere near enough crumble so next time I will make double or maybe even triple for the crumble topping).

Noodles with veg and egg. I'll have the leftovers and probably chocolate as well.........

Answerthequestion · 27/09/2019 19:24

Well it’s friday night so the only dinner is chopped mover, egg & onion, chicken soup with kneidlach and lockdown, roast chicken, lots of challah and a yummy dessert.

What else is there for a proper Friday night dinner

(Actually we are only having the roast chicken but the above is a proper Friday night dinner, best made by grandmas )

OneKeyAtATime · 27/09/2019 19:25

Indian take away. We also had burger and chips at the pub. How decadent.

feelinghelplesstoday · 27/09/2019 19:31

Home made pizzas with sour dough bases (yep home made too 😂). They were delish and I'm sitting polishing my halo 😂

bwydda · 27/09/2019 19:56

We had carbonara - an easy meal, made simply because I have nothing here.

But I will have the first cheeseboard of autumn and a glass of wine later which be the highlight of my day

SallyWD · 27/09/2019 19:59

Salmon, roast baby potatoes and steamed veg.

dudsville · 27/09/2019 19:59

myidentitymycrisis · 27/09/2019 19:59
