How much dried pasta per adult should you cook? I always tend to over cook and waste pasta.

10g must be about 4 or 5 pieces of pasta.

MustardScreams · 01/07/2019 19:22

I never measure, but it doesn’t matter how much or little I put in, I always end up with enough to feed about 8 people.

DuesToTheDirt · 01/07/2019 19:23

75g as standard. 65g for a heavy sauce like macaroni cheese, or 100g for a light sauce like pesto.

Grumpbum123 · 01/07/2019 19:25

Kids 35g adults 75g

Im pretty certain 10g was tongue in cheek

A la "I have a nibble of pasta and a massive salad and piles of veggies" of usual MN food threads

Surely it depends how hungry you are? Sometimes I might do 70, sometimes 100.

As a general rule for me and DP I do 170g as it works out around 1/3 a bag.

Although my grandma makes lasagne with one sheet of pasta for herself.

Anything less than 70g is tiny and not worth it. Why bother? I'd be starving!

MustardScreams · 01/07/2019 19:34

10 grams of pasta is a joke surely?? That’s like 3 strands of spaghetti.

Time40 · 01/07/2019 20:00

I do 120 grams per adult blush We're big eaters!

Oh, thank God there's just one person who does about the same as I do! Although ... I have never thought of myself as a big eater ...
