Beef mince recipe that's not burgers or bolognese

FlatPackPat · 06/06/2019 12:45

As the title suggests.. I have some beef mince and I need to use it tonight. We had burgers recently and pasta last night so no bolognese!

Any suggestions? I've considered chilli but I don't think DP likes it too much.
Thanks in advance Smile

This is what I make when I have mince but don't want bol, burgers, or chilli. I like it with butternut squash noodles but the rest of my family have pasta.

Mexican rice with mince beef is super popular in my house. Kids don't like black beans so we put in sweetcorn from a tin and green beans. www.gousto.co.uk/cookbook/beef-recipes/one-pot-mexican-beef-rice-beans

Meatloaf, meatballs, chilli, cottage pie, mice beef pie, moussaka (I know it is normally lamb but we make it with beef and it is yum.)

myrtleWilson · 06/06/2019 12:58

Or you could do beef Dan Dan noodles or Fuschia Dunlop's "send the rice down" Sichuan beef if you fancied a Chinese vibe?

chilli, mince and potatoes, meatballs with potato wedges, enchiladas

Keema curry, I think the recipe I use is either slimming world or pinch of Nom. It's delicious.

Cottage pie, meatballs

Bollocks. I've ended up making the most vile chilli. It's sweet and not at all spicy?! How did this happen Hmm

Hmm...not sure - did the meat stew rather than caramelise so you don't get the depth of flavour of the meat? Sorry - not a chef!

This is the recipe I use for chilli which uses steaks of meat rather than mince... it does take a while but is a family favourite so for us it is worth doing... www.thetimes.co.uk/article/how-to-cook-like-a-mexican-easy-chilli-con-carne-tzrlj3lf8nk

Minced beef dhansak with spinach and lentils. It's a weight watchers recipe and it's delicious

Hoppinggreen · 11/06/2019 18:57

Too late now but I usually make Keema with peas
It’s just onion, garlic and mince with curry powder and a bit of stock (and peas of course)

242Mummy · 11/06/2019 20:29

Probably too late now but you have to try this next time. Delicious and so easy

Ooh thank you for the (late, but appreciated!) further suggestions. The Korean one sounds fab.

In fact they all sound better than my weird Chili I ended up making Envy we had to eat the bloody thing the next night too as we'd meal planned and otherwise we'd have been a dinner down. DP was very gracious with his 'it's not that bad' summary.

Pinterest has a nice recipe called cheeseburger gnocchi.

RhubarbIsEvil · 11/06/2019 22:31

Beef koftas.

Mustbetimeforachange · 11/06/2019 22:37

The Korean one sounds tasty but I can't imagine cooking mince for 3-5 minutes?! Wouldn't it be chewy?
