What main meal do you tend to cook most frequently?

For me it's pasta bake with chestnut mushrooms, spinach and goats cheese.

Chilli con carne with 5 different beans. Love it.

cloudtree · 19/01/2019 19:03

roast dinner. Everything else gets alternated but that is cooked every week.

sphinxa · 19/01/2019 19:03

DustyMaiden · 19/01/2019 19:06

Spag bol. Cook a big pot and freeze it. Lasts weeks.

Nativityriot · 19/01/2019 19:11

Ooh tell us how you make said pasta bake.

Snog · 19/01/2019 19:11

@PurpleFuschia4 is your chilli vegetarian? What are the five beans that you use?

Macaroni Cheese.

WendyCope · 19/01/2019 19:13

Winter, beef stew with veg or roast chicken or pasta with simple tomato and garlic/herb sauce. Curry.

Summer, salads or Jamies veggie chilli. Flash fried fish with salad.

Grumpbum123 · 19/01/2019 19:19

Roast chicken with all the trimmings

Snog · 19/01/2019 19:21

@Nativityriot
Put large roasting tray of chopped sweet peppers, chestnut mushrooms, chilli flakes, salt, olive oil and rosemary in oven for 20 mins
Cook pasta
Heat up a can of tomatoes and wilt some spinach in it
Tip everything into roasting tray, stir together and top with a sliced up goat cheese log
Bake for 30 mins

Freezes well

Pasta, but different sauces

pallisers · 19/01/2019 19:33

spaghetti bolognese and roast dinners - do this nearly every week.
I probably do fried chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus once a week too.

PinkHeart5914 · 19/01/2019 19:36

Chilli, we all love it. It does have a bit of variety though for example;

Sometimes I use strips of beef instead of mince

Always kidney beans and then either butter beans or chickpeas as well

Only red peppers or green peppers, never both

Sometimes served with rice others with jacket potatoes but always sour cream & cheese

cstaff · 19/01/2019 19:41

Oh yeah and chicken stir fry. Takes about 15 minutes from start to finish.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 19/01/2019 19:42

Tagliatelle with peas, pesto and smoked salmon. Takes ten minutes.

SuperMam123 · 19/01/2019 19:58

Baked chicken breast with a baked sweet potato. Broccoli and green beans.

Roast dinner with all the trimmings

Lasagne

Beef stew and dumplings

Cottage pie

Those are my go to meals.

PurpleFuschia4 · 19/01/2019 20:02

Snog no, I just find kidney beans on their own bland.

It's red kidney beans, pinto beans, cannellini beans, borlotti beans, black eyed beans. Comes in a chilli sauce too, add a tin of chopped tomatoes and the herbs/spices - sorted Smile

dementedma · 19/01/2019 20:07

stir fry - beef or chicken
mince and pasta
fajitas
jacket potatoes - various toppings
soup - but not a main meal. Make it every week, sometimes twice a week! Today, pea mint and garlic.
meatballs

Kintan · 19/01/2019 20:43

Sausage, mash, peas and gravy!

Nativityriot · 19/01/2019 21:09

@snog I am totally making that this week YUM. Trying to cut down cows milk cheese as it’s making me dramatically break out but goats cheese... deeeeelish.

Snog · 19/01/2019 21:32

@Nativityriot Yay!
I hope you love it!
