What were your favourite sweets?

It's my mums 50th birthday next week and I am doing little sweetie bags for her surprise party.

I want to include retro sweets she would have loved when she was a child, so far I have

Liquorice torpedos
Flying saucers

And then I'm stuck!

You used to get chocolate tobacco talk about sublimimal messages kids you will smoke

Ooh, whistle pops! Anyone remember the little tubes of horlicks sweets too? Sweets with hundreds and thousands on were jazzies....

Jazzles! thank you i think the horlicks sweets were called Malties my gran used to eat them

Not s sweet as such but bubbly’s

I am 50 in three weeks

I loved UFOs and Kaylai ( not sure how it is spelt) - for 2 ( new) pence we got a small paper cone and a lolly to dip in what was coloured sugar! Teeth rotting stuff

Floral gums, Cherry lips. Skeleton bones in a plastic coffin (!!)

I love floral gums a shop near me used to sell them then they sold up and took the floral gums with them

Cola rollerballs. They looked like ball bearings as they were silver.

Brandy balls
Clove rock
Sherbet fountain
Drumsticks
Midget gems
Strawberry bonbons
Chewy cinnamons
Toffee nuts

Pear drops, mint toffos and refreshers. Also liked animal bars and mushrooms (pink foamy things) plus absolutely loved Chelsea whoppers.

Horlicks tablets. God, I could have eaten a ton of those.

I'm surprised any of us still have a roof on our mouth!

Refresher chews is one of my favorites. This bring back my childhood days.

This is brilliant thank you everybody! There are a few that I've heard my mum mention (floral gums being one! I remember her giving me once and thought they were disgusting!)

From this list I've got a list of all the ones that are still made and am going to the retro sweet shop today to see what I can get.
