What were your favourite sweets?

It's my mums 50th birthday next week and I am doing little sweetie bags for her surprise party.

I want to include retro sweets she would have loved when she was a child, so far I have

Liquorice torpedos
Flying saucers

And then I'm stuck!

White chocolate fish and chips were my favourite. 3p each 😀

Gobstoppers
Liquorice torpedoes
Sherbert dips
Stick of rock from Skeggy
2oz Sherbert lemons in a paper bag

These are ones that havent been mentioned so far
Jaw breakers
Cough candy twists
Drumstick lollies
Wham bars (chewy sweet, not chocolate)
Dip dabs
Blackcurrant & liquorice sweets
Chocolate limes

Rainbow drops
Jelly snakes
Toffee bonbons
Mint cracknell

Palma violets, sherbet dib dabs, midget gems.

Don’t forget sweet peanuts, curly wirlys and golden wonder crisps😊

Midget gems were my favourites.

Not exactly a sweet but add Creamola Foam to the list.

Oh and sherbet fountain and Toffos.

Liquorice fountain. Rainbow crystals (Kayli). Space Dust. Pineapple cubes. Mint Cracknel. Caramac.

Bullseyes

It's a lot of chews though. I barely touched chews in the 70s, except for multi flavour toffo's, and pacers, and orange chewits. All three have gone now

Shrimps, white choc mice, the chocolate discs with sprinkles on, chewy fried eggs, and sweet cigarettes if anyone still dares make them!

Gold nuggets chewing gum and chocolate cool cups and potatonpuff crisps I hope your mum loves her present

What were those chocolate disks with the hundreds and thousands called ? Well them

I was so upset when I ate a pacer and my t shirt didn't turn stripy like the advert !!!

I fell in the school playground and choked on a spangle I was in primary 5 and my short life flashed before me the playground lady probably saved my life!
