What were your favourite sweets?

It's my mums 50th birthday next week and I am doing little sweetie bags for her surprise party.

I want to include retro sweets she would have loved when she was a child, so far I have

Liquorice torpedos
Flying saucers

And then I'm stuck!

Here, steal some ideas from this www.aquarterof.co.uk/personalised-1970s-decade-sweets-from-fabulous.html

JaneJeffer · 08/07/2018 21:04

Bullseyes

KokoandAllBall · 08/07/2018 21:04

It's a lot of chews though. I barely touched chews in the 70s, except for multi flavour toffo's, and pacers, and orange chewits. All three have gone now Sad

KokoandAllBall · 08/07/2018 21:05

Shrimps, white choc mice, the chocolate discs with sprinkles on, chewy fried eggs, and sweet cigarettes if anyone still dares make them!

MrsJayy · 08/07/2018 21:06

Gold nuggets chewing gum and chocolate cool cups and potatonpuff crisps I hope your mum loves her present

madeyemoodysmum · 08/07/2018 21:08

MrsJayy · 08/07/2018 21:19

Not sure if this would work out more expensive, but take a look for some ideas :)

SoapOnARoap · 08/07/2018 21:26

Chocolate Tools
Space Dust
Traffic light lollies
Fruit Salad

MNOverinvestor · 08/07/2018 21:26

Caramac, Spangles, chocolate cigarettes (the chocolate bit was a joke, grainy nonsense but so evocative) Bazooka gum (had little transfer tattoos in them).

MNOverinvestor · 08/07/2018 21:30

They still sell the 'chocolate' cigarettes... in exactly the right packaging (Bazooka, so looking at you for changing yours) www.retrotuckshopsweetsdirect.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=821
