Weird Sandwich Filling Combos

Ok I know there must be some that sound disgusting, but taste rather nice. My favourites are firstly toasted cheese and green chilli, secondly pate & tomato sauce. My dad likes jam and halved grapes.

Anyone willing to share their unsual sarnie fillings then?

Philly and strawberry jam, yum! Salad cream sandwiches (mayo will not do the job. Sliced apple sandwiches. Mmmmmmmm.

Raw garlic olive oil tomatoes and salt and pepper on toast
Cheddar and mustard
anchovies olives and quark

also used to have weetabix with butter when little and plain tomato sauce sandwiches and loved bread and dripping with the jelly stuff that settled out at the bottom of the bowl

cheese and onion crisps with garlic and herb philidelphia! mmmmm

bundle · 15/07/2004 16:28

sure it's a bit like potato salad, but nicer. my Irish nana used to make them for me, so they're particularly nostalgic...

Angelpoppet- what a yummy combo. Very tempted to try it myself!

fairyfly · 15/07/2004 16:34

Weetabix butter and jam needs explaining, its making me heave

sykes · 15/07/2004 16:38

Fishfingers with mayonnaise, ketchup and cheese. Toasted pitta bread with mayonnaise, marmite and cheese.

bundle · 15/07/2004 17:01

how could i forget fishfingers? with ketchup, on white bread

fairyfly · 15/07/2004 17:01

Cottage cheese, vinegar and sprouts

sykes · 15/07/2004 17:05

FF, I loved that when you made it for me last time you came to stay. It's delicious. Off to buy some sprouts. I think the girls can have a picnic tonight.

bundle · 15/07/2004 17:07

what kind of vinegar?

sykes · 15/07/2004 17:08

I'd use balsamic, FF would probably just use the chip shop type.

fairyfly · 15/07/2004 17:10

Pickled onion vinegar

bundle · 15/07/2004 17:11

I noticed the chip-shop stylee (sarsons, of course) now has an added twist of lemon variety, obviously for all us posh types

bundle · 15/07/2004 17:12

oh fairyfly of course! the best..(especially if they're home made)

fairyfly · 15/07/2004 17:12

The sprouts must be boiled and then mashed, kind of like a spread

sykes · 15/07/2004 17:12

Or pickled eggs, FF - you must introduce Beety to their delights on Friday. I think she'll love them.

bundle · 15/07/2004 17:12

with a little added salt/pepper/melted butter?

fairyfly · 15/07/2004 17:14

Melted lard, i will i'm going to take her to the burger van for dinner

sykes · 15/07/2004 17:18

IS that before or after she wees down an alley?

bran · 15/07/2004 17:24

Feeling hungry now for my all-time favourite sandwich, tuna-mayonaise and banana. Mmmmmm.
