To my knowlaedge I have never eaten a Steak and Kidney pie or any kidney at all infact

I am a little bit funny woth kidneys and offal and the like and have never eaten them
well I was in the supermarket and thought 'oh I'll be brave and buy some steak and kidney pies....poor dh doesn't get to have them cause I wont eat them...hmmm maybe I'll try them, maybe they will be nice'

bought them home told dh and....turns out he's not keen on kidney either and I was mistaken, he doesn't care that we haven't had them lol
anyway, I've popped one in the oven, tea for one dh not back yet, could someone tell me what to expect. Are they nice? Should I be funny about them, sre they meaty or mushy?
It's just a bird's eye frozen pie(I know, hardly gourmet).

I love them. in pies they're generally a bit mushy.

Can't help on the pie front - I'd ask DH but he's on the phone.

My father used to eat lots of offal. When the kidneys were cut up you could tell by the smell what the body had used them for. It certaily put me off. Probably put you off too - sorry!

Chicken livers, fried with bacon and served with spinach however is one of my favourites!

LOL!! i love liver ! i buought a tesco finest steak and kidney pie, and i just could not eat it !! don;t know why, but kidney... not met many foods i can't get down the hatch !!

they are delicious .. I lurve steak and kidney pie .. particularly from the chip shop

havne't been to the chip shop for years though

but then I like haggis too
