What peanut butter do you buy?

Mrstumbletap · 25/02/2017 20:03

I see palm oil in loads of them, and the ones that don't have palm oil are £3-£5 a jar.

I can't say I know all the details about palm oil but I know it isn't great, but my DS loves peanut butter and it's going to be expensive if I'm spending £3 each week.

Pip and Nut. It's not cheap but is sometimes on offer at Sainsbos.

OvO · 25/02/2017 20:13

Meridian here too. I stock up when it's on offer.

trickyex · 25/02/2017 20:15

Pip and Nut too, palm oil free and lovely, the one with coconut oil is even better....

OreosOreosOreos · 25/02/2017 20:15

Personally I don't like the texture of meridian. We buy whole earth, which does contain palm oil, but only from sustainable sources

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 25/02/2017 20:16

Sun pat doesn't have palm oil. Neither does Morrison own brand.

Gossgirl · 25/02/2017 20:16

I get meridian as well, my local health food shop sells the kg tubs for just over £5.

OrangeJulius · 25/02/2017 20:16

Meridian. I get the big tub from Ocado.

Friolero · 25/02/2017 20:17

Jif extra crunchy

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 25/02/2017 20:18

Meridian, I buy a kilo from Holland and Barrett for around £7, so it lasts for ages. My toddler loves it. We get smooth as the crunchy is very crunchy.

TupperwareTat · 25/02/2017 20:20

Morrisons do a finest version for about £1.69. Its lovely.

BikeRunSki · 25/02/2017 20:21

Meridian here too. Big tubs from Amazon or Health Food Shops, or jars when they are on offer in Boots. I like the jars, I get them to put jam in in the summer.

iMatter · 25/02/2017 20:23

Whole Earth organic crunchy.

It's the bee's knees. And dog's bollocks.

maitaimojito · 25/02/2017 20:24

Meridian here also. It's not too expensive if you buy the big tubs.

LostMyDotBrain · 25/02/2017 20:26

Whole earth here too. As above, it has supposedly sustainable palm oil. But I buy it because it isn't full of glucose like so many I see on the supermarket shelves. Made satay with Asda's own one time and it was disgustingly sweet.

NapoleonsNose · 25/02/2017 20:29

Another Whole Earth organic crunchy fan here too. I do like the Meridian one as well though. Buy on Amazon as much cheaper than in the supermarket.

TwentyCups · 25/02/2017 20:31

Meridians good. Morrisons have an own brand that's 100% peanuts too!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 25/02/2017 20:33

Meridian.

Palm oil is palm oil, I try to avoid it all.

Mominatrix · 25/02/2017 20:35

Koeze. Just peanuts and salt.

PotteringAlong · 25/02/2017 20:35

Whole earth organic crunchy here too!

RJnomore1 · 25/02/2017 20:45

Meridian here too although I have had the pip and nut on offer and it was lovely

Hoppinggreen · 25/02/2017 22:49

Whole earth organic smooth - don't like the crunchy stuff

HardcoreLadyType · 25/02/2017 22:52

Sunpat has no palm oil.

Mrstumbletap · 25/02/2017 23:22

Thanks for the replies I'm glad there are other peanut butter lovers out there.

How much is the Morrisons finest one?

I have seen those large tubs and I suppose I could store it in the garage and just dispense it into a smaller jar.

Has Sunpat just got peanuts and peanut oil? Does it have any ingredients that are dodgy? How does it keep the price low without something strange in it?

The whole earth one was £3.89 I think though? That is expensive for such a small jar, £200 a year on peanut butter Shock
