Help!

Stuck in a TERRIBLE SHOCKING rut of crap food all the time.

I CAN cook, I work full time, lone parent 1x DS who eats a standard 3 year old diet so not great for me.

Please inspire me with your ideas for this week ...... :Grin

Salmon steaks
Chicken fillets
Omelettes
£10 meal deal pork with roasted vegetables
Starter of risotto from £10 meal deal (the portions are huge, so I tend to stretch them to two meals)

AtleastitsnotMonday · 09/10/2016 18:54

I've had a request for this Spaghetti bollognaise pie! to be fair the response I usually get to any requests is 'whatever' so seeing as there was an actual answer I feel I have to go with it!

NeverEverAnythingEver · 09/10/2016 19:03

Chicken, potato and spinach curry in anticipation of National Curry Week - not sure a 3yo would like it but the 10yo and the 12yo ate it - I used mild Madras curry powder.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 09/10/2016 19:24

In addition to the spag Bol pie
Garlicky ratatouille bake
Tuna, pea and tartar fish cakes
Ginger beer chicken with green beans and sweet potato mash
BNS, barley and red pepper risotto
Chorizio and chickpea veggie stew with jackets
Gnocchi with pea and watercress pesto

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/10/2016 19:33

Haven't done mine yet - we're doing some fridge/cupboard clearing over the next few days and getting a delivery later in the week.

Tomorrow = veggie hotdogs with corn on the cob
Tues = veggie burritos

No idea beyond that. I'm fed up of everything! If I like/want it, dd2 inevitably doesn't.

Don't suppose anybody has a really good recipe for a veggie Pad Thai, by any chance?

GizmoFrisby · 09/10/2016 19:35

Chottie where is the meal deal with risotto from? M&S?

ninenicknames · 09/10/2016 20:57

Thanks - it's not veggie though. Have you made it before?

LauraMipsum · 09/10/2016 21:15

Chestnut roast with roast potatoes, parsnips & sprouts today

Tomorrow - tofu steaks, baked potato & peas

Tues - veggie Shepherd's Pie & cabbage

Wed - rest of the Shepherd's Pie & frozen broad beans

Thurs - aubergine satay (new recipe attempt), falafel, hummus & bread

Fri - takeaway

DD is 2 and will eat the bits she likes and reject the rest probably in favour of yoghurt.

dalmatianmad · 09/10/2016 21:20

Mon- chicken wrapped in pancetta
Tues- cheese and potatoe pie with sausage and beans
Wed- stew and dumplings
Thurs- paella
Friday- pasta bake with meat balls and garlic bread

FurryDogMother · 09/10/2016 21:25

Monday: crustless spinach and Parmesan quiche, salad
Tuesday: prawn and crayfish tail cocktail in an avocado
Wednesday: skate wing with black butter, broccoli
Thursday: scallops with a white wine and cream sauce, salad
Friday: chicken Madras (home made), salad
Saturday: salade nicoise (tuna, olives, anchovies, hard-boiled eggs, green beans etc.)
Sunday: roast pork, sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower

The salads aren't all the same, btw - lambs lettuce and a tomato one day, baby spinach and spring onion another, etc etc. I eat low carb, so probably not to everyone's taste! I just add potatoes, rice or pasta for my Dad, who needs to put weight on, whereas I need to take it off :)

MumboNumber5 · 09/10/2016 21:26

Lasagne, chicken curry, sausages and gnocchi in tomato sauce, pasta with peppers and feta, frozen pizza, chicken tray bake

Some yum sounding ideas on here!

ZazieCats · 10/10/2016 11:32

Roast lamb tonight- we popped out yesterday and ended up being out all day as it was so nice!
Tuesday- Shepherd's pie made with venison and pork mince.
Wednesday- something with fish, we get a fish box delivered on Wednesdays
Thursday- pheasant, rabbit and bacon casserole.
Friday- Roast chicken, lots of leftovers make weekend easier
Saturday- steak
Sunday- Roast beef and gluten free Yorkshire recipe with arrowroot that I want to try.

VinoTime · 10/10/2016 12:15

Have just done my meal plan and need to head out for the weekly shop. Meh!

Monday - teriyaki chicken with rice and broccoli.
Tuesday - sausages, roast potatoes, veg and gravy.
Wednesday - smoked haddock chowder with sweet potato, peas and sweetcorn.
Thursday - grilled pork loins with mash and beans.
Friday - pizza and garlic bread.
Saturday - baked potatoes with homemade chilli and salad.
Sunday - roast chicken dinner.

Weather has turned so cold now that I'll do homemade vegetable and lentil soup to cover lunches at the weekend. Don't need to worry about any during the week as DD is school dinners and I'm night shift. Porridge/toast and eggs should cover us for breakfasts. Frantically wracking my brain for anything I've left off the shopping list as I will not be braving that weather to go back out! Brrrr...

lastqueenofscotland · 10/10/2016 12:39

Today: chicken and fennel gratin with seeded bread rolls and salad
Tomorrow: chicken, bacon and chestnut pie with steamed greens

Saturday: pizza (DDs birthday so her choice)
