Flourless chocolate brownies from Nigella Lawson's book/web site. Tried it a few years ago when we released that both DH and I need to avoid gluten and it has become a firm favourite.

I add fruit when serving, either raspberries or a mix of berries.

Thanks for the receipe!

Can you get Baileys whipped cream where you are? .......mind you, not sure how boozy it is.......

Plum tarte tatin with posh vanilla ice-cream. Unless I get scared of the pastry/caramel combo in the tarte tatin then poached plums. I suspect DH will sulk for weeks if I just give him poached plums and ice cream.

The new issues of Good Food has a recipe for a Millionaire's Chocolate Bombe (basically a mix of chocolate ice cream and caramel with a biscuit and choc ganache coating, stuck all over with Maltesers).

It's inspired me to make some chocolate ice cream mini puddings for the children, but stuck all over with choc drops or mini buttons and topped with a cake topper of edible holly. I'll make a couple more for any adults who want an alternative to Christmas pudding.

DD doesn't really like Christmas pudding, so usually had sticky toffee pudding - made them today so they can go in the freezer.

Higge · 09/12/2015 17:41

Harry - I love the sound of that cheesecake, can you link to the recipe please?

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 09/12/2015 18:02

I swear Tom Kerridge making a nice looking cake with boiled oranges, spice and ground almonds that I'm planning to try. Also Nigella's holiday hot cake always goes down well, another spicy sponge with its own syrupy sauce included.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 09/12/2015 18:02

Saw not swear, sorry!

I've discovered to my horror that M&S are no longer making the family Christmas favourite:

Is there a similar he anywhere else? Or how and Earth do I set about recreating it!?

hooliodancer · 11/12/2015 14:48

Nigella's chocolate Christmas pudding is just gorgeous. I will put a little sprig of holly on the top!

Charitygirl1 · 12/12/2015 19:22

Coffee pavlova (nigella I think)

Mominatrix · 12/12/2015 19:38

Pannetone bread and butter pudding with spiced custard. Neither DH nor I grew up here so no traditions of Christmas puddings.

macnab · 15/12/2015 16:57

I'm doing a trifle, a lemon meringue roulade and a crunchie & toblerone cheesecake Smile

handslikecowstits · 15/12/2015 19:48

Tangerine posset.

SparklyTinselTits · 15/12/2015 19:49

My mum is a hairdresser, and has a lovely customer who makes us a Christmas pudding every year, but my sister is an awkward arse who won't eat it, so I make profiteroles for her Smile

SquadGoals · 16/12/2015 10:24

There will be 15 of us and we are in charge of dessert.

DH is making a couple of different pavlovas and I am making Nigella's gluten free brownies. Will grab some tubs of ice cream on the way.

I really fancy a trifle but will be staying at DPILs and don't think they have a suitable bowl to make it in.

Not sure if that will be enough dessert!

BlueCowWonders · 16/12/2015 20:35

We're repeating last year's Ben and Jerry's feast. Blush
But it did make the Sainsbo delivery driver very envious. Grin 'I wish my mum would do that'

OrangeNoodle · 16/12/2015 20:40

Steamed apple pudding with mincemeat sauce and Cornish clotted cream. It's become a firm Christmas favourite here although I do still love a traditional Christmas pud, no one else here does!
