There.

said it.

Ds1 ate quite well but my bin now has at least 2 dinners worth of food in.

If I serve up shite they'll eat it but I won't do it.....they can starve before I give in.

Ungrateful little f*ckers!!!

DD1's doing this.

So she's not eating.

She only wants white bread.

Well, she's not getting it.

Highlander · 18/12/2006 11:06

I've heard someone call the pasta/white bread phase "the age of beige". Hope it ends soon.

expatinscotland · 18/12/2006 11:09

She's going to get hungry soon enough, Highlander, b/c I'm not about to let a 3-year-old feast on junk.

It's also going to be a boring Xmas for her if she keeps it up, b/c no chocolate or treats unless she eats something decent.

expatinscotland · 18/12/2006 11:09

There's also no white bread in the house

It's like booze and fags - if it's not in there, you won't drink it/smoke it.

ooh, expat you are a woman after my own heart. DH and MIL are faintly horrifued that I regularly put DS1 to bed on an empty stomach. I absolutely refuse to fall into the trap of 'junk is better than nothing'.

The whingeing for pasta does grate on my nerves..........

I've been saving this thread to read for a really bad time and tonight's dinner was it. Thanks for sharing everyone, it's made me feel so much better.
My 22m old was a human hoover up until the last fortnight and now he won't eat anything (before anyone suggests HV, he's just started tantrums too, this is deffo about control not illness). My 3yr old takes an hour of constant nagging/threatening/bribery to eat half her favourite dish.
Tonight, I actually found myself trying to stuff food into DS's mouth and ended up yelling at them both to get upstairs and binning the food. No more. Half an hour is a reasonable amount of time, after that it is simply going in the bin.
