Which brand of frozen pizza is the nicest?

I want to buy a job lot for a party at the weekend. I've just done a search on Mumsnet for the answer to this question - the last time it was asked, in 2009, Iceland and Dr Oeteker (sp?!) did well. Are they still good?

I still prefer Dr Oetker. Authentic Italian pizza. Made in Germany Grin

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 25/08/2015 21:31

Goodfellas thin crust is my choice.

Aldi do good pizzas and are reasonably priced if you are buying a pile of them. I eat them quite regularly and I am a bit of a pizza connoisseur.

Ginxed · 25/08/2015 21:34

Aldi Specially Selected especially the one with goats cheese and onion, really good. They've won a few awards too.

PurpleDaisies · 25/08/2015 21:35

Another vote for Dr oetker. We also buy Sainsburys own brand ones (which are perfectly fine too) if Dr oetker ones aren't on offer.

patterkiller · 25/08/2015 21:35

The asda fresh counter ones are really nice and can be frozen.

BatmanLovesMenInEyeliner · 25/08/2015 21:36

Dr Oetker here too. Esp the mushroom or the chicken and spinach ones.

Moln · 25/08/2015 21:37

Aldi ones in the box that looks a bit like dr oetkar are the nicest I've come across

LucyLocketLostHerPocket · 25/08/2015 21:37

Favourite here is Chicago Town Takeaway with the stuffed crust.

whattodohatethis · 25/08/2015 21:41

Iceland garlic pizza here

FeelingSmurfy · 25/08/2015 21:42

I am a Dr oetker fan, the one with pesto, mozzarella and tiny pieces of tomato

HippyPottyMouth · 25/08/2015 21:43

Dr Oetker spinach ones.

Lg74 · 25/08/2015 21:43

Iceland thin crust Italian pizzas, definitely the best frozen I've had. Think it's goodfellas that do a thin crust mozarella and pesto one that's good.

blibblobblub · 25/08/2015 21:44

Dr Oetker pollo. So good.

I had an Aldi £1 pizza last week; it was seriously rank. I'd hope the specially selected ones taste better!

Branleuse · 25/08/2015 21:47

tesco italian ones

iwantgin · 25/08/2015 21:49

I love the Lidl 3 in a box pizzzas.

Sometimes buy margherita - and add a little extra topping - such as capers/ancovies/oil/garlic etc.

They are v thin - which I like. Not doughy and soft.

Butterchunks · 25/08/2015 21:53

I know the question has been asked about frozen pizzas, but I definitely agree with Patterkiller, Asda's fresh pizzas are amazing and affordable (I think £3.50 for a 14inch pizza). In my opinion they are better than Pizza Hut and Dominos.

Butterchunks · 25/08/2015 21:55

oops getting overexcited...Dr Oetker or Sainsburys own pizza are some of the better frozen ones (but Asda hands down every time)

JimbosJetSet · 25/08/2015 21:57

I'd be just as happy to buy the fresh ones - I assumed the frozen ones would be significantly cheaper though? I'm looking for a fine balance between reasonable price and reasonable taste!

squicketysquack · 25/08/2015 21:58

Dr Oetker for frozen here too

WhoisLucasHood · 25/08/2015 22:11

Chicago town takeaways are the best, I think that you can't tell they are frozen.

LakeFlyPie · 25/08/2015 22:13

Dr Oetker or the triple box from Aldi IMHO

queentroutoftroutss · 25/08/2015 22:13

not frozen but the fresh pizza express ones in the chilled isle.

applecatchers36 · 25/08/2015 22:15

Iceland Italian stone baked pizzas really good, thin base

InQuiteAPickle · 25/08/2015 22:16

The Dr Oetker Ristorante ones are my favourite.
