brie or camembert

in fact, I've been known to polish off a whole circle in one sitting

franca70 · 29/10/2006 16:47

gorgonzola, burrata, taleggio and pecorino, when I'm in Italy.
I love all our local cheeses here in the west country, esp a stilton made in cornwall, but can't remember the name.
I like all kind of cheese, the stinkier the better.
creepy, I think tesco (tesco own posh brand, can't remember the name) has a v. good mozzarella di bufala, ime

Blandmum · 29/10/2006 16:48

Almost any good cheese.

If I had to pick just one , for ever, Roqufort.

But I also love chevre, so it is a hard call

yomellamoHelly · 29/10/2006 16:48

Emmenthal and stilton with apricots and wednesleydale with ginger.
Only eat them on special occasions, though.

Oh God this thread has started a longing here for just a big cheese board with some charcoal biscuits, a little bit of crusty baguette, a few walnuts and loads of wine [wistful emoticon] Seriously I think that would be my last meal if I was on death row.

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 29/10/2006 17:01

can't believe no ones mentioned Cheese Strings yet

Being serious though I think Camambert and Brie (quite ripe and gooey please!)

Charleesunnysunsun · 29/10/2006 17:04

The more stinky and strong the better

Emmenthal

Gruyere (for cooking especially)

Blandmum · 29/10/2006 17:46

I love dolcelatte as well, and Blu D'Auverne

I don't mind brie etc but I am not wild about it.

One of the nicest things on holiday this year was going to the cheese stalls in the French markets and saying, 'What is good to eat today' and then being given wonderful, unknown stinky cheeses to eat with fresh french bread , washed down with the local wine. all in the fresh air, on the campsite
Bliss!
