I love S. Pellegrino, crisp and dry with a soapy after taste and wonderful carbonation which doesn't make you feel bloated.

As an everyday water I like Vittel..neutral flavour and it isn't too high in sodium.

Badoit is my favourite, and I really like Vittel still water. I can't abide Ballygowan still(Irish Brand)

Bozza · 22/06/2006 08:58

I tend to favour Yorkshire Water. Direct from the tap. Not keen on the stuff you have in the south - we have nice soft water here.

Carmenere · 22/06/2006 09:00

Admittedly I generally drink filtered tap water as I feel we are privledged to have it and it is fine when it has been filtered.

zippitippitoes · 22/06/2006 09:03

I drink tap water..although it is over chlorinated here so not particularly nice, but as an alternative to wine San Pellegrino is lovely and it has a huge number of minerals. It smells of volcanoes!

Ours is good tap water I think and not chlorinated. We are lucky.

yes, lovely Yorkshire water straight from the tap.
We also buy Buxton (not due to brand loyalty - it's the cheapest) in little bottles as dd1 loves sparkling water.

Bozza · 22/06/2006 09:24

I don't like sparkling water but do buy Asda own brand sometimes and then refill with tapwater.

trinityrhino · 22/06/2006 09:26

i drink tap water but if I'm out and by some I like volvic

zippitippitoes · 22/06/2006 09:27

I just had a shower and close my eyes and it is quite easy to imagine that I am at the swimming pool..why is it so chlorinated here I wonder?

I shall try badoit I don't think I've had that.

still bottled = volvic or evian
sparkling bottled = san pellegrino
but tap mostly.
Volvic just tastes nicely of nothing and is easy to drink

Carmenere · 22/06/2006 09:41

Zippi Badoit has a lot of minerals in it and a good bit of sodium so it tastes a little bit salty. People either love it or hate it, I love it but it is quite expensive so I only treat myself to it occasionally.

katierocket · 22/06/2006 09:42

The San Pellegrino non carbonated is lovely too.

zippitippitoes · 22/06/2006 09:43

I had some Perrier the other day and decided it was really gassy and unpleasant in comparison..won't be getting that again!

Another drinker of filtered tap water here, but I do like Vittel, given a choice. Not really very fussed, though.

Northerner · 22/06/2006 09:55

It all tastes the same to me, can't really tell teh differeence.

I normally drink Yorkshire water from the tap (it's good in Harrogate or what ever the cheapest bottle is.

Hate sparkling though.

Marina · 22/06/2006 09:56

I love Badoit and when out and about usually buy Vittel. London tap water tastes pretty good to me as well though

Carmenere · 22/06/2006 09:57

I can totally tell the difference between different types of water, I just think some can and some cant.

Perrier is far more heavily processed than Badoit zippi. The bubbles in Badoit are much smaller. It really is the perfect mineral water with food which is why it is served everywhere in France IME. Perrier not to be seen. I think the stuff is like Drano. Ugh.

Marina · 22/06/2006 09:59

We had a gorgeous mild water from near Lille on holiday (love the way the French even proudly promote their local mineral waters...) St Amand des Eaux. Carmenere is right, they do mostly have a distinctive flavour - Vittel excepted.

zippitippitoes · 22/06/2006 10:00

doesn't london water come from chalk wells or something?

Northerner have you tried that Harrogate Spa water that some entrepreneur sells? Not the disgusting pump rooms bad eggs one.

London water is something your constitution either loves or loathes - because of the high limescale content, yes. I love it - it suits my digestion and my skin/hair. I would say this of course but IMO it is the best tapwater in the world and I really miss it when I go somewhere with "soft" water!

Frenchgirl · 22/06/2006 10:05

dd loves carbonated San Pellegrino
I hate Perrier, but then again I'm not crazy on bubbly water
drink tap water (not great here, but still drinkable), or buy Evian
Used to buy Volvic in France

NomDePlume · 22/06/2006 10:08

Still - Evian

Sparkling - San Pellegrino (although I'm not great with carbonated stuff, so it's rare that I drink it).
