don't do it Shock
even touching them is dangerous I reckon
I do not know what a humzinger is but frubes are in the yoghurt section and hysterically cheestrings are found in the real cheese section.

moondog · 20/06/2006 09:50

I shall wear gloves and a mask Piff, but thanks for your concern.

humzinger is a fruit bar, find it with the dried fruit i think. neice has them, they look vile.

tallmummy · 20/06/2006 09:51

Frubes are tubes of fromage frais - made by yoplait i think. Find in chill cabinet with yog- purpley pink boxes.
Humzingers are dried fruit bars - healthy snack - in our supermarket I think they are with the raisins and cereal bars.

serenity · 20/06/2006 09:51

Frubes are tubes of fromage frais - you won't like them MD too artifical, but great for packed lunches as you don't need a spoon. You can get them at any supermarket

Humzingers - fruit bars, no additives colourings etc championed by quite a few MNers. Taste like poo, my children won't touch them and even I couldn't eat them. Kind of sawdust texture iirc.

Carmenere · 20/06/2006 09:52

Would't bother with the Frubes(tubes of fromage frais) tbh as they have preservatives in them iirc. Humzingers are basically what is known as fruit leather and are just fruit that has been cooked and mashed and cooked and mashed and dried. Not much fibre left but generally harmless apart from the fruit sugar.

beatie · 20/06/2006 09:52

I find those yoghurts in tubes so vile looking. I cringe when I see a child eating a yoghurt in this om-the-go fashion. Hmmm - let's do away with cuttlery and plates and all eat our meal out of a squeezy tube. Grin

I'll be interested to see what your research uncovers :)

hunkermunker · 20/06/2006 09:52

Buy a Dairylea Lunchable, go on, MD, you know you want to

Mercy · 20/06/2006 09:53

lol moondog. I think Frubes are yoghurts or fromage frais, no idea re Humzingers.

dd kept on about cheesestrings a few months ago (because her friend has them in her lunchbox). She ate 2 of them and asked me never to buy them again! Problem is she now says she doesn't like cheese.

moondog · 20/06/2006 09:53

Ok,and a lunchable.

Quite intersting re Humzingers.
In the Caucusus, (and Russia and Turkey) you can buy long strips of dried fruit with nuts in 'em.
Very nice.

LOL Hunker we could come up with a nice long shopping list for moondog - what about some fruit shoots?

Piffle · 20/06/2006 09:55

I make a great dried apricot/peach and alond/hazelnut fruit strap/bar
Dead on, far too nice for the kids though Grin

SoupDragon · 20/06/2006 09:55

Frubes are good eaten frozen though :o

And cheese strings are real cheese. Mutated by an alien machine, admittedly, but 100% real cheese nonetheless.

Piffle · 20/06/2006 09:55

and moondog what would your basket be without Billy Bear sausage or "baby ham" as it is known colloquially.

AllieBongo · 20/06/2006 09:55

i know... fruit winders and pepperami too! or those panda pops masquerading as fruit shoots

moondog · 20/06/2006 09:56

Fruit 'strap'

Ooh err.

hunkermunker · 20/06/2006 09:56

You are a complete Lite-weight MD.
Your shopping list should be:
Unlunchables
This Bear-ham stuff
A non-refrigeratable mousse type pudding
Quavers or Skips
a 250g bar of chocolate.
Fruit Shoots.

AllieBongo · 20/06/2006 10:02
