Make bread dough in machine. Roll out thin. Spread with melted butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up and slice. 20 mins at 180* :)

karmakameleon · 05/02/2013 08:45

Cinnamon popcorn. Make popcorn as per instructions. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar while still warm so that the sugar melts and the cinnamon coats all the popcorn.

Cinnamon french toast. Make the french toast as per normal but add a bit of cinnamon and sugar to the egg mix. Once cooked coat in cinnamon sugar and serve drenched in maple syprup.

I make the cinnamon sugar with one teaspoon of cinnamon to one tablespoon of sugar.

Oooh, Purple do they come out like Swedish bulle ( swedish cinnamon rolls)?

I loved these when I stayed in Sweden as an exchange student, I could make the dough in the bread maker and finish by hand, off to explore, thank you

PurplePidjin · 05/02/2013 13:08

No idea, I've never had the swedish ones! Nice and not too sweet, though :)

HobKnob · 05/02/2013 13:11

I often put a pinch of cinnamon in my tomato sauce for meatballs.

Tommy · 05/02/2013 13:11

these are gorgeous - similar to the bread dough ones but with puff pastry

wannabedomesticgoddess · 05/02/2013 13:13

Swedish ones have cardamom infused milk in the dough. But the same idea!

For chelsea buns add some sultanas soaked in a little orange juice.

Take a sheet of puff pastry, cut into long triangles, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, place a slice of apple at the point and roll up. Bake. Apple cinnamon bites.

HighJinx · 05/02/2013 13:15

Not a recipe but cinnamon is lovely sprinkled on porridge.

Taffeta · 05/02/2013 13:16

Faves in this house:

apple and cinnamon cake
cinnamon porridge w sultanas
added in granola mix before baking

Often sprinkle it in crumbles, on baked fruit, on natural yoghurt

caramelgirl · 05/02/2013 13:19

In Morocco we were served sliced juicy oranges sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Was really lovely and refreshing. I also do an approximation of kheer rice pudding with cardamom, cinnamon, rose water and almonds. Sometimes make with rice or almond milk..

iMum · 05/02/2013 13:29

purple i take it you prove them before baking? got my dough in the bread machine as we speak!!!!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 05/02/2013 13:36

Make this amazing cake and add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the cake mixture and then more sprinkled on the top. This is my definition of heaven!

smarmyarmy · 05/02/2013 13:47

these cinnamon buns are also amazing.

Francagoestohollywood · 05/02/2013 13:49

It is. It really is.

And your whole house smells delicious all day.

annach · 06/02/2013 13:50

Cinnamon apple crumble.

Stew apples with tsp cinnamon, tsp of vanilla essence and some OJ (just enough to stop them sticking.

Make crumble with cup of oats, cup of flour, cup of ground almonds, cup of brown sugar, cup of soft butter, tsp of cinnamon and tsp of vanilla essence again. Bake for 20 mins. Gorgeous. The best.

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2013 13:53

Cinnamon toast - make toast, butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. SimplesSmile

DeDevilTail · 06/02/2013 13:58

franca, would you mind sharing your recipe for blueberry and cinnamon cake, please?

EnglishGirlApproximately · 06/02/2013 14:01

Drive to Ikea, buy a packet of their cinnamon rolls, drive home. Heat in oven for 12 minutes, burn mouth while eating Grin

I love cinnamon too so bookmarking this page. Might do cinnamon toast for breakfast tomorrow.

Kiriwawa · 06/02/2013 14:07

bigTillymint - cinnamon toast is even better if you put it under the grill afterwards so the sugar caramelises.

Also is delicious if you slice apple thinly and put on the buttered toast and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the top before putting under the grill. Granny Smiths work well

Francagoestohollywood · 06/02/2013 14:19

Sure, here it goes:
170 gr butter (soft)
140 gr sugar
2 eggs
175 ml sour cream
230 gr self raising flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
200gr blueberries

pre heat oven at 180 C (can't remember which gas mark it is, 4, maybe?)

beat butter and sugar until creamy, then beat in the eggs. Add the sour cream and then sift in the flour + cinnamon. Add the blueberries.

Pour into a plum-cake tin lined with baking paper.

Cook for 1 hr and 10 mins.

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2013 14:25

Mmmm Kira - must try that!
