Here we are, a lovely shiny, new thread just in time for Xmas.

OP posts:
StateofConfusion · 17/01/2013 19:37

Tee I've had similar with stateman, he decided dd was wetting the bed deliberatly... And told her off needless to say I nearly didn't need the 6wk contraception talk with the GP. He's still adamant she could wake up but doesn't tell her off now.
bonkey are women scary? Bless him. Dp was the same at ds preschool 'everyones posh' now he does most school runs and gets all twitchy if I say ill go alone and usually comes too.

I've just managed to get babystate to have a 3 hour nap whilst the noisy states were home. maybe better day time sleep will end this midnight screamy fit she's been having.

StateofConfusion · 17/01/2013 19:41

Oh missed you on the next page giraffes glad things are going well with your new man, enjoy every second, you deserve it :)

Spag bol was full of garlic, both me and dp are quite generous with it, apparently that's a common thing to annoy bf babys so ill just avoid it for a while.

Tee2072 · 17/01/2013 19:43

Well, he apologized so he's off the Twat Bench?. And he actually listen when I told him why it wasn't a good idea.

The bandage is making me crazy, but I'm not in much pain, which is nice.

State so the sling pic on FB. She looked very snuggly! LT would never take to a sling, so I'm jealous!

Giraffes! You hussy! Wink

BonkeyMollocks · 17/01/2013 20:05

Going well then giraffes Wink .

No women aren't scary but he says he feels out of place Hmm obviously he doesn't see the various other dads that are there on a regular basis Hmm . And he also seems to have forgotten that he was more than happy to pick up ds from nursery when it was all women! Hmm

BabyState looked very snug in the sling!

StateofConfusion · 17/01/2013 20:06

That's good, I could talk until I'm blue in the face at stateman and he'd still hold his own opinion Hmm

I've always used slings but found out that the structured baby bjorn style are bad for hips and with all dps issues we have to be extra carefull so got a ring sling when ds was about 6mo, and while he liked it, as did dd1 I never felt they were secure so would keep an arm round them at all times so it defeated the object, Lilys been in that one once but is quite long so it was awkward for me, and if I sat or anything it altered her posistion and annoyed her, saw this close one at kiddicare when I was pregnant and fell in love, dp keeps calling me a hippy.

He's from a family that has strict routines, all FF, puts dcs in own rooms from birth and do CC day and night as 'they need to know they're not in charge' he isn't criticising me he just finds it fascinating that (if we forget her midnight strops) she rarely cries and how happy she and I are, and we are all getting sleep! I don't follow any rules with my dcs I just see what fits each one I have.

StateofConfusion · 17/01/2013 20:10

bonkey they are strange, dp refused to take ds to any of our groups when I'd just had dd, despite them already being paid for, because it was all women. Our school has a lot of Dads at pick up time though so maybe that's why he doesn't mind.

Has everyone who watched Great british bake off seen there's a comic relief one starting monday at 8.30pm.

DreamySleepyNightySnoozySnooze · 17/01/2013 20:29

Glad it's going well giraffes!

State, I have to say I agree with your method. Every child is different so you have to see what works for each one. If I tried to force Ds2 to sleep/feed etc the same way Ds1 did, I'd just cause myself and Ds2 so much stress and heartache. Both my boys are so different, in nearly every way.

How long do you have to wear the bandage for, Tee?

Tee2072 · 17/01/2013 20:31

Couple of days Dreamy and then the stitches come out next Thursday. I'm suppose to keep it dry too, so washing my hair may prove interesting. I hate not washing it every day, too.

BonkeyMollocks · 17/01/2013 20:36

Tee Can you bend forward over a bath and do it? Or get dh to help?

giraffesCantGoFirstFooting · 17/01/2013 20:38

state ah sorry missed your post where you identified it was garlic. I had a wee suspicion it may have been. Still at least missing out garlic is better than the crying! And when you stop bfing you can have a garlic party to make up for it. Grin

Of course he sleeps on the sofa bed btw!

Tee2072 · 17/01/2013 20:40

I could try that on Saturday bonkey. Right now moving my head at all hurts, so the idea of hanging my head over thing does not appeal!

At least it will be very cold tomorrow and I can bundle up over my dirty hair and slashed throat. Grin

BonkeyMollocks · 17/01/2013 20:45

If you had it anywhere but your throat I would have recommended a cling film wrap....did the job for my knee when that had to stay dry.
However...throat+cling film = A very bad idea!

Dry shampoo??

giraffes Grin

Tee2072 · 17/01/2013 20:48

I had the same thought about cling film!!

I'll just live with it for tomorrow and sort of wash it with a face cloth on Saturday!

StateofConfusion · 17/01/2013 23:27

Batiste dry shampoos pretty good tee

Well I won't hold my breath but little miss has had a much better evening and I've swaddled her and we've settled down to bed early in the hope she'll sleep straight through her screamy time.

BonkeyMollocks · 17/01/2013 23:29

Fingers crossed for you State !

I'm meeting a fellow Mnetter tomorrow and it feels abit weird meeting someone who knows bits of my 'virtual persona' and has been in my safeplace (MN)!

StateofConfusion · 17/01/2013 23:34

I've met a mner, I felt the same but she was lovely as were her dc, and mine just disapeared off with them in her house. Have fun! X

Shaky · 17/01/2013 23:41

Hello all, I'm glad your OP went well Tee

State I wanted a sling when ds was a baby, I have no idea why we didn't get one Confused

Dreamy I'm glad your ds is feeding better

Go Girrafes I'm chuffed for you Grin

Empress I'm sure you will make yourself indispensable in that charity shop,

Bonkey I'll have a look at your blog ASAP

I have been to work again today, this morning I read my 500 work emails and this afternoon I did some IT training. I am very glad i'm off tomorrow, apparently it's going to puke down with snow ⛄

Shaky · 17/01/2013 23:44

Ooh I've never met a real live MNetter Envy

BonkeyMollocks · 18/01/2013 00:19

Shaky I keep bloody forgetting!
Can you pm me your address please!
I lost the original thanyou card because it was in a pile of paperwork unsent Christmas cards Blush and Dh threw the lot in the bin because i told him that it was pointless sending them now due room it being the new year Hmm .

Ds wants to thank Mario lady ! Grin

StateofConfusion · 18/01/2013 07:39

Morning all, slightly better night with Lily, only two lots of 20mins shouting instead of hours in one go, she's decided she likes the dummy, me and dp are convinced she was comfort sucking but getting milk so getting windy and generally annoyed about It all.

shaky if you have anymore dc I highly recomend the close caboo carier, its so comfy for me and lily and she's really secure in it, all the rave reviews are actually true!

I'm off to register her this morning, and thanks to the snow the dcs school opens an hour later, luckily ds and dd friends are sisters and there Mums taking my two at 9 to drop them at 10 as our appointments 9.30 in the next town --where I used to live and can't wait to live there again so I asked if I could register her where the big two were registered--. So I really should put the phone down and get a move on!

Tee2072 · 18/01/2013 08:15

Morning.

Bad, short night thanks to neck pain and the bandage pulling. Then I got it wet in the shower so had to change the bandage and the stitching looks horrible. I hope the skin looks better than the black string in my neck!

Therefore, I cannot tell a lie, I have booked a taxi to take LT and I to school and then bring me home again. Probably about £15 - £20 well spent.

State I found dummies to be a godsend. Yes, he still has it at 3.7 but we are working on him only having it to sleep and it's going very well.

No snow here yet, just rain.

BonkeyMollocks · 18/01/2013 09:05

Morning!

Its bloody snowing!!

And its still going!
We have done snow angels, castles and got our emergancy bread already today! Grin

StateofConfusion · 18/01/2013 16:47

Tee sorry you had a rotten night, hope your more comfortable now and get more sleep tonight. I'm a total dummy convert already with the big ones, actually dd only gave hers up last week, we've spoke about the dummy fairy for a long time but she chose when and its been fine, she gave up at the same age ds did, 4.2yo Blush but it worked for them both and they sleep well.

bonkey sounds like fun, love the pics of bonkeyboy on fb. Tbh I'm sick of the snow now, we've had it all week.

Tee2072 · 18/01/2013 17:30

Snow here! Hard to believe as we nearly never get enough to actually settle, but the garden is covered.

I do feel better, thanks State. I had a rest all day including some actual sleep.

I have not panic shopped. I hope Tesco's delivery can make it through tomorrow or it's off to Spar tomorrow!

BonkeyMollocks · 18/01/2013 17:33

Well, results are in and tbh I'm not really sure what to make of them!
She said all the major stuff (liver/kidneys/sugar/iron etc) is normal and clear but the results are showing a inflammatory which is telling them that there is something wrong.
Me:What does that mean?
Doc:Basically that we know your not 100% but we have no idea why!

In other words, I am stuck in square one except I have had it confirmed that i'm not well.... Hmm

What the buggering hell am I meant to do with that?!?!?!!?

More blood tests in a month to see if whats wrong with me is still wrong .
