Here we are, a lovely shiny, new thread just in time for Xmas.

Colic is such a broad thing, just a way of describing an uncomfortable, crying baby really. It's so upsetting not knowing what you can do to help a screaming baby isn't it. Sad

Bicycling his legs helps Baby Dreamy fart, and lifting him up over my shoulder with his arms above his head helps him burp, but sometimes he still just screams and there's no settling him. We just have to ride it out, pacing the room with him, patting and jiggling.

I've never tried Colief, we used Infacol with Ds1, who was a very screamy baby, but I don't think it made any difference. We haven't used it this time as I did a bit more research into it and I don't think it's very good for them, or even effective.

It just gets easier as they get older, so it's a waiting game unfortunately. Although you could maybe look at your diet and see if anything you're eating/drinking could be upsetting her? Caffeine, spicy food etc?

StateofConfusion · 13/01/2013 21:52

I don't drink tea or coffee, mainly water, occasionally squash and I don't like spicy foods, did have bolognese yesterday so wondered if the garlic could have aggrivated her?
Have done the bicycle legs with her and either it helps or she just likes the movement as she calmed when I did it, at 6.30 she got screamy so I got a grip and gave her the colic drops and she calmed about 5mins later and dosed off with dp, 8.30 I decided to give them before her next feed and she fed without one bit of fuss and has been asleep since, so as much as I hate giving them 'medicines' I'm going to stick with it as she's much more content.

Also dd1 has given up the dummy hurrah!

StateofConfusion · 14/01/2013 22:32

Where is everyone?

EmpressOfThePuddle · 14/01/2013 22:37

Writing job applications Hmm.
Question. Describe an occasion when you treated someone who had different beliefs or views to you with dignity and respect.

Ice?

BonkeyMollocks · 14/01/2013 22:46

Grin Empress Dh has just filled out a introductory form for a new job with that question! Along with 'Describe a occasion you were helpful and calm in a difficult sitiation'. Load of mollocks if you ask me!

Oh and yes my dh has almost got a new job! Manager wants him, just have to get the HO to ok it and we are away!

EmpressOfThePuddle · 14/01/2013 22:52

That's fantastic, Bonkey! Congrats to your DH.

Utter mollocks. I guess I should be grateful I haven't been asked what kind of tree or animal I'd be.

showtunesgirl · 14/01/2013 22:56

I'm not doing my tax.

BonkeyMollocks · 14/01/2013 23:16

Hold those congrats until we get it confirmed 100% - we are at 90% atm!

Good luck with the job applications! I'm surprised they don't ask what kind of animal you would like to be - good character judgement I imagine!

Most of the questions are pretty similar on each of them. Examples of Getting Things Done, Being a Team Player, Showing Initiative (but not too much).

Anyone want some Wine?

Shaky · 14/01/2013 23:28

I'm going back to work tomorrow

I went to bed an hour ago but my stupid brain won't go to sleep. Sad
I'm going to be knackered tomorrow

BonkeyMollocks · 14/01/2013 23:30

I would kill for some Wine !

I should be in bed but got excited because I sold two of my most expensive bracelets, now all I want to do is sort my pricing out Hmm .

Shaky Good luck! You will be fine! Make sure you take it slowly! xxx

Shaky · 14/01/2013 23:32

I would love some wine but better not.

I need to find my smile, brain and social skills ready for tomorrow

I didn't realise how much of a recluse I have become. At least my uniform is laid out all ready

StateofConfusion · 14/01/2013 23:33

That's a question and a half empress good luck with that!

Will keep my fingers crossed bonkey :)

I'm annoyed I had planned a day at my Mums tomorrow but with the fecking snow dp doesn't want me getting the bus and tbh I wouldn't want to have Lily out in this weather for long, I'm annoyed at the snow not him. Did have a walk to the school in it though as after collecting dd1 from nursery she and her friend asked to play so we stayed for a cuppa which lasted until our bigger ones finished by then it was seriously snowing.

Not wanting to jinx it but I'm pretty sure Lilys wind was due to what I ate, last night she slept 6.30-8.30 9-11.30 1,15-5.30 6-9.30. And she's been so content today and so far this evening. I have been feeding her so she's at a more upright angle too but not given drops today, fingers crossed.

Also got hold of a carseat snuggle for her and the close carier I've been lusting after can't wait for them to arrive.

Sorry I'm becoming a right baby bore Blush

dreamy been meaning to ask did you get anywhere with sorting babydreamys tongue tie etc, been thinking of you x

StateofConfusion · 14/01/2013 23:35

Good luck shaky I'm sure you will be just fine! Still wish you'd been my midwife, I was left feeling utterly abandoned by the random one sent to sign me off after seeing the same one since 12wks!

Well done bonkey Grin when I get my brain into gear I have another order to make for mothers day.

BonkeyMollocks · 14/01/2013 23:36

I was going to ask too Dreamy !

Snow Envy . All we have had is rain! Hmm

Awww I loved the baby bubble State , getting excited about things I never though i would get excited about! :)

EmpressOfThePuddle · 14/01/2013 23:37

Good luck for tomorrow, Shaky! Thanks

Thanks, State. I've got two that almost fit so I'm going to mesh them together. So glad Lily's feeling better and a carseat snuggle sounds very Puddlish!

Yes Dreamy, how's it going?

Shaky · 14/01/2013 23:38

Can somebody please take the batteries out of my brain but make sure they are put back in by 6.30 am? Or hit me on the head with bid sledgehammer.

EmpressOfThePuddle · 14/01/2013 23:38

Congrats Bonkey! Wine for Bonkey and me

Shaky · 14/01/2013 23:54

Thank you Empress

StateofConfusion · 14/01/2013 23:59

Its a rainbow one too empress

shaky I was once told solitaire is a good way to feel sleepy, something to do with the patterns our eyes follow playing it, anyway I play it on my phone or ipod when I can't sleep and it always works, worth a shot if you get desperate.

I'm watching love actually, Lilys sound asleep next to me on the sofa, really should have put her in the pram but she loves a snooze on the nursing pillow, dps pottering about somewhere, I'm bored but I refuse to go to sleep until she's had a good feed, she usually settles 12/1ish which works for me.

StateofConfusion · 15/01/2013 00:00

Cheers empress :)

EmpressOfThePuddle · 15/01/2013 00:14

Thanks State.

Put a pic of her in it on Facebook? Please?

StateofConfusion · 15/01/2013 00:30

Of course Grin

BonkeyMollocks · 15/01/2013 00:30

Im giving up - my eyes are failing me!

Night everyone.

EmpressOfThePuddle · 15/01/2013 01:45
