Hubby sick of boring or pre packed sandwich fillings - wife running out of ideas!! Wish hubby had canteen - hubby eats LOTS!! Any one out there please give some ideas!! Help!! Would be SERIOUSLY appreciated!!

Wife tells hubby to feck off and make his own sandwiches. Wife's job done.

Hubby can decide what hubby wants and make it himself. If he can't decide what he wants, that's called his problem.

Can you not give him leftovers from the previous nights dinner?
What about pasta salads? They're very filling.

"Hubby" makes own sandwiches to own requirements. Wife stops calling husband "hubby" as it makes other people's teeth itch.

If you want to make his sandwiches, fine. But in that case the least he could do is come up with some ideas himself. Tell him to go to a sandwich shop and look on the menu board for inspiration.

If you're really desperate to be treated like his Mother then you could make/buy some Cornish Pasties. The meat and potato filling is very filling and if you make them, you can chose the size.

Agree with everyone else - delegate his problem back to him. And while you are at it, tell him he wouldn't have such a problem finding fillings if he didn't strike whole foodgroups, like fish or salad, off the list.

Does he complain if you haven't ironed his y-fronts quite to his liking?

Ignore the sarky comments OP. I make both our sandwiches for lunch, though I do wraps rather than sliced bread. DH doesn't like fish either so it tends to be leftover roast +stuffing, chicken tikka+mango chutney, beef +mustard, chicken+redcurrant jelly, ham+cheese+chutney, blt.... that sort of thing.

Oh I am not adverse to making my husband a sandwich from time to time. But if I say "do you fancy ham or cheese?" and he turns up his nose to both as "boring" (which he would never do because he isn't so rude) he can sort his own lunch out. He is 38, he's quite capable.

But mine was sarky and helpful!

I stopped making DP pack-ups after I put sunflower seeds in it a few years back and he got the piss ripped out of him mercilessly. He now eats lots of seeds but only at home

Seriously, just make a bit extra for dinner and box it up for lunches the next day. Much easier.

Also vary the bread, wraps, paninis, baguettes etc.

leftovers. Pasta salad (make a vat and it will last the week). Pasta shapes with a slightly spicy tomato sauce is fine eaten cold and freezes well. If you pack it frozen at this time of year is will defrost by lunch time at room temperature and not leak in his bag. Sausage rolls. Buy puff pastry and make pasty type things with things in jars (cheese and sun dried tomato, sausage meat, antipasto). Again, make a big batch and freeze. I have to say I used to do all this stuff, and enjoyed it, but stopped cos DH was not that appreciative and i couldn't really be arsed.

So you want a load of internet strangers to help your husband decide what he likes in his sandwiches? And then give YOU the ideas so that YOU can make them for him?

I don't think it's an unreasonable post. I get bored of lunches and lack inspiration. Sometimes it's takes suggestions to inspire ones own ideas!

DP currently makes his own sandwiches. Since finishing uni/work I have more time on my hands. I may start making his lunches every now and again just like he sometimes surprises me with toast and a cuppa in bed.

Is hubby 8 years old? Why is it your problem to find things he likes, ffs?

I don't mind doing DH's sarnies when I'm making the dc's or popping to the butchers for a few slices of ham on the way back from school, but if he wants more than a slice of ham stuck between two slices of buttered bread, he's on his own, if dared to complain about his ham, bread and butter, he'd find himself wearing it. HTH.
