Absolutely he should be making his own sandwiches! Is he living in the dark ages? Show him this thread.

RightUpMyRue · 09/07/2011 19:49

1950's sarnies Grin

stupefy · 09/07/2011 19:49

I cane on here to say get him to make his own fecking sandwiches but I see i've been beaten to it.

peggotty · 10/07/2011 10:43

I think we've scared her off. I feel a bit guilty now.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 10/07/2011 10:46

1950s sandwiches would be, like, devils on horseback wrapped in white bread, right? Or things in gelatine. Or devilled stuff, whatever devilling actually is.

ledkr · 10/07/2011 11:08

you lot are wicked Grin, poor op,it was on the recipe board after all,she may have been a net mummer who fancied a change, she wont be back now.

ledkr · 10/07/2011 11:09

Devilled spam?

couldtryharder · 10/07/2011 18:53

Although I agree with the majority of posters on here that he could do his own (I could go on here), I really don't the the poor OP quite deserves the ribbing that she's got. Sorry OP.

islawhiter · 10/07/2011 19:02

Have you tried Arsenic? most men are into anal Im told?

OfflineFor30Years · 10/07/2011 21:17

I know Bibbity, the gall that some posters have to come onto the recipe section asking for advice about recipes when they clearly don't live according to the Mumsnet sanctioned way of life. The cheek of it!

At least there are plenty of sanctimonious arses witty people to put her straight, eh?

NormanTebbit · 11/07/2011 21:18

well aren't we all clever, clever

Northernlurker · 11/07/2011 21:59

I think the op was given a rough ride here but tbh the answer to 'I'm bored with my sandwiches' - whther it's your oh, mother, child or the Archbishop of Caterbury whining at you - is ALWAYS make your own. Grin

Failing that op - does he like houmous? You can buy little individual pots that he can take with him along with some breadsticks or pitta to dip. Cold pizza is very popular with my dd too.

MissMiaowington · 12/07/2011 13:36

OK, well unlike other people on MN who think that a question in an OP means

"please rip the piss out of me"

I actually go on thread to give advice which is being sought. Because I am not in a playground anymore.

I know this one is probably tried and tested, but I love pitta breads. I used to get so bored of taking sandwiches everyday, until I spotted someone else with one. I tend to stick tuna in mine, but it works lovely with chicken, mayo, sweetcorn and peppers.

What things have you tried OP? What are HUBBY's (yeah, go on, scratch your teeth. Since when do teeth 'itch' anyway?) preferences - does he like 'wet' sandwiches, ie ones with mayo, salad cream, gravy etc, or is he more or a cheese and onion kind of man?

Pin0t · 13/07/2011 16:31

I make my husbands lunch because I love him, and I like caring for him in a million different ways. Same as he does for me.

OP - ignore the bitches on here. Live life by your rules, not their caustic ones.

UkeHunt · 13/07/2011 16:37

Ask him what he wants.

hillyhilly · 13/07/2011 16:42

I was going to suggest Grated carrot and hummous with rocket, but I'm giggling too much at "google 1950's sandwich fillings"!

purepurple · 16/07/2011 08:25

PinOt My husband makes his own sandwiches because he loves me and sometimes he even makes mine. I wouldn't dream of complaining that I was bored of his choices though.
[British Bulldog anyone?]

byanymeans · 26/07/2011 17:59

I dont make my DP sandwiches for him (unless its his birthday Wink) but I do all the shopping so he gets what I buy him or nothing, so it seems only fair to buy him some thing interesting some days, like Cornish pasties, chicken slices things like that once a month or so.

Have you thought of different breads we have a bread maker so some day he has tomato bread or garlic bread if we have left over roast chicken. some times he has rolls with cheese on or bagels are a nice change some times (plus easy to make and fun for kids to make up)

Big Steak sandwiches are no surprise his fav. But if he gets that he knows I have dropped his motorbike or brought some thing expensive for mine off ebay.Grin

FloraFlower · 27/07/2011 22:33

Cat biscuits?

Guy I sat next to complained to his wife that he was getting bored of cheese sandwiches - fifth day in a row I think. The next time he bit into his sandwich it was a bit crunchy...

I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
