POLL about cheese on toast

Do you

a) Toast first in the toaster then put the cheese on and grill

b) Toast on the grill first then put the cheese on and grill a bit more

c) Put the cheese on bread then put in the grill

Something me and my friend is arguing about

i don't think mine fits-

I toast one side under the grill.

put ketchup and cheese on the untoasted side,
then put the cheesy side under the grill

okay, now i've read the whole thread too, I do the same as zzzzen and Somuchtobits and monione.

sometimes i also put veg under the cheese - onion or sweetcorn or mushroom.

it's like pizza then.

Can I also add that a couple of years ago when DS's friend came to play (they were 5yo at the time) I offered him cheese on toast for lunch and he said he'd never tried it .

How can your child get to age 5 and not have had cheese on toast?! Its always been a quick, easy lunch option, an alternative to a sandwich.

(His mum confirmed this so he wasn't making it up. Also he liked toast and liked cheese so it wasn't due to not liking the 'ingredients')

DH used to grill one side, turn then butter before adding the cheese
He stopped when I pointed out that cheese is already around 30% fat.

Personally I'm a B person.

Knew someone at uni who toasted bread in toaster & melted cheese in microwave and dumped on top.

Was quite vile as the cheese seemed to go extra greasy

Toast on one side. Mix grated cheese and milk and add seasoning.

Toast under grill.

Toast in the toaster, then add cheese and microwave to melt the cheese 'cos I'm a lazy arse.

There was someone at work who put the bread and the cheese in the toaster (normal vertical toaster not a toastie maker) and then was suprised when the fire alwarm went off.

same way as SMTB.I have never toasted both sides of the bread.

neither of my dcs, 6 and 4, will eat it. One of them doesn't like toast full stop. Meanwhile I had buck rarebit for lunch after reading this thread earlier and very nice it was too!

oh and I grill one side, turn over add cheese and grill again.

I butter bread, top with cheese and put under the grill, so only the cheesy side is toasted. I like it a bit soggy
I also put ketchup on top after it's come out of the grill.

Toast both sides
Mix grated cheese with a little milk and black pepper
Spread cheese mix right into sides of toast so can't burn
Grill

is it just me who adds vinegar on top when done

Grill one side, then brown sauce and cheese on untoasted side and grill. DH has ketchup instead of brown.

goodmanners Don't you find with C that you have grilled cheese on warm bread rather than toast?
