We cook the turkey Christmas Eve and I'm ashamed to say on Christmas day I always have a stuffing sandwich!!! Really weird I know but my very favourite and only at Christmas.

taffetacat · 04/11/2010 21:22

Dippy eggs with soldiers - what we did as children, have carried it on

Lines the stomach nicely for the later onslaught

Nibbles from midday eg smoked fish etc ( don't have starter at lunch )

Eat lunch some time after 3

We have Christmas lunch when we get round to it - around 2ish generally, with the dessert some time afterwards.

Mince pies and cream. Grin And probably chocolates.
Kids have cereal because they don't like mince pies!

Christmas dinner usually around 2pm.

Tidey · 04/11/2010 22:13

You have to cook a chuffin great dinner on Christmas day, I refuse to believe that anyone cooks breakfast as well. Stop showing off and just admit it - you all have a selection box for breakfast.

Grin

Everyone gets their favourite breakfast.

Having tried every alternative known to man we are back with turkey. Free range of course and not too big as we are at in-laws on Boxing Day.

elportodelgato · 04/11/2010 22:16

eggs benedict with smoked salmon or bacon on the side, glass of bucks fizz, proper filter coffee. OMG I can't wait!

hogshead · 04/11/2010 22:19

My Mum's side of the family always have pork pie with tomato ketchup for christmas day breakfast.

i forget why now or how it started but it is a long held fmaily tradition and we still do it now (even though i hate pork pie!)

ClaireDeLoon · 04/11/2010 22:21

Whatever I feel like.

Tidey · 04/11/2010 22:21

Serious question, kind of. It would be frowned upon to have alcohol first thing in the morning on any other day of the year. Yet so many people do it at Christmas. Seems weird to think 'special occasion = alcohol for breakfast'.

BelligerentGhoul · 04/11/2010 22:23

We always have a selection of pastries plus melon and pots and pots of coffee.

Chocolates or a mince pie at about 11.00pm.

Lunch at around 2.00pm.

Cheese and crackers and more mince pies for supper.
