If you could only ever use two condiments for the rest of your life, what would they be?

I'm including sauces, ketchups and relishes as condiments.

I think I'd just stick with salt and pepper - DS1 would have tomato ketchup and extra tomato ketchup. But I don't know that I could live without Dijon Mustard - it's a tough one. And horseradish - could I really go the rest of my life without horseradish sauce in exchange for pepper? I do love a good condiment :o.

Hellman's Real Mayo

Encona Hot Sauce (the scotch bonnet kind)

oooh mammy!

PrettyCandles · 12/08/2010 10:27

Oh goody, I get to keep garlic. Mmmm...in that case, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

I'm a simple-lifer when it comes to food. Grin

But if it had to come in a jar then I would go for Helman's Mayo and either Tracklements' Onion Marmalade or Geeta's Onion Chutney.

CheeseandGherkins · 12/08/2010 10:29

Salt and tomato sauce.

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/08/2010 10:32

I assume salt and black pepper are a given? i would need those.

Other two would be salad cream and dijon mustard.

MathsMadMummy · 12/08/2010 10:33

black pepper and mayonnaise (separately or together!)

we are a salt-free house so no worries there.

AbsOfCroissant · 12/08/2010 10:36

Aoli (the garlic mayonnaise stuff) and chutney. Sometimes mixed. Yum

ReneRusso · 12/08/2010 10:41

vinegar and mayo
but DH couldn't cope without salad cream and ketchup

MathsMadMummy · 12/08/2010 10:42

ah, see I love aioli but I have to make my own! :)

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/08/2010 10:51

Aioli and chutney mixed? You dirty bleeder Grin

AbsOfCroissant · 12/08/2010 11:13

Have it with chicken. You'll think you've died and gone to heaven, OR with chips. Mmmmmmmmmmm

I'm really hungry now Sad

mummylin2495 · 12/08/2010 11:30

does gravy count ? if so then for me it would be salt / gravy

MoonFaceMama · 12/08/2010 14:50

smoked tabasco and tamari.
It's a tough call though.

poshsinglemum · 12/08/2010 21:21

coarse black pepper and tomatoe ketchup.

QwertyQueen · 12/08/2010 21:41

salt and English mustard hmmmmmm

bran · 12/08/2010 21:46

Chili and soy sauce. I don't ever add salt to my cooking or food, and only rarely add pepper. I couldn't live without chili though.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/08/2010 01:01

freshly ground black pepper
and proper continental mayo like amora
{saves me having to make it!}

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 13/08/2010 01:38

Hot English mustard, and mayonnaise.

But you're making me cry, you know. Farewell, dear chillis, I loved you well.
