Not a flounce as such (I haven't the elegance to 'flounce' anywhere) but....

... time for me to bugger off, at least for the foreseeable.

I don't like what's happened here recently, that's for sure, it's been very unpleasant - I'm too old for schoolyard netball-team-picking - and I could do with spending more of my time on RL things anyway.

Thanks for all the genuine support and kindness I've received in my few years here, I've appreciated every bit of it and have some lovely friends as a result.

greensleeves -I know what you mean. I came back today after a week away, read a load of threads and I don't know WTF is going on.

Maybe things will change over time and the MN we know and love will come back?

My theory is that we MN together, we end up menstruating together! So MN is now due a 3 week love-fest.

Sad for MN that you are going Greeny, but hope it's a positive step for you, and that 2009 is a great year for and your gorgeous boys. (oh and Dh of course, sorry DH!)

I haven't chatted to you for a lonnnnnnng while, I'm not around much bur whenever I do come back I look for you as you have always been one of the funniest wittiest most intelligent posters around.

Rebecca, yes it is a forum where opinions are given, but this is a thread where one old friend is saying goodbye to everyone and certain people who feel strongly enough at her parting are responding. Your comment was sneering and uncalled for. Would you butt into a RL life conversation and say such a thing? Just because this is an open forum, I do not think it is appropriate to make any comment you like on any thread you like. Save it for the appropriate thread please.
