Flouncers' corner

Right that's it for Twiglett. I'm not having fun any more, there is little of interest and I'm getting wound up by things I'm not sure I really care up so it's time for me to bid a fond adieu

Lots of less than gruntled people on MN at the moment.
I can see their point.

mazzystartled · 25/10/2008 11:16

Shall we all call it a day then?
Suggest mnhq shut down?
I think it is extremely RUDE of people to flounce with "its all too big and too boring"
Sorry Twiglett, I am surprised at you

If you're offski, why not just stop posting?

lilymolly · 25/10/2008 11:17

agree mazzy
why all the fuss
just go

Tommy · 25/10/2008 11:19

I know what you mean Twiglett but I need to find something else to do instead of being drawn back here al the time

Lauriefairycake · 25/10/2008 11:20

but that's why we have flouncer's corner, so people can have a little bitch moan

lilymolly · 25/10/2008 11:22

ok fair point

I guess my point of view would be........I would never think myself as important enough that anyone would give a crap about me flouncing therefore would never dream of annoucing it iyswim?

mazzystartled · 25/10/2008 11:24

Actually, technically I think leaving/deciding not to post anymore doesn't really constitute "flouncing" . To me "flouncing" has to be when you have had a bust up or someone has mortally offended you, and you have to make a stand.

And it's rude to tell a group of people who you have probably been having conversations with on a daily basis that they are "boring".

lucykate · 25/10/2008 11:29

mn is imploding, along with the economy

Lauriefairycake · 25/10/2008 11:30

Actually, technically - she didn't even use the word 'boring' - she said 'little of interest' - that may have been topics

stitch · 25/10/2008 11:31

i need to do this too

mazzystartled · 25/10/2008 11:32

think its just part of the natural life-cycle of an internet forum
starts small and hardcore, gathers momentum, initial members bugger off, new members join, takes on new character

its evolution

its probably very healthy

squatchette · 25/10/2008 11:35

Yes but on the otherhand Twiglett could be even ruder and not say goodbye to people she has been having conversations with everyday (even if she does find some of them boring/of little interest).

berolina · 25/10/2008 11:35

Blimmin'eck. Will the exodus never stop?

I and the rest of MN shall miss you, Twig. Enjoy RL.

berolina · 25/10/2008 11:36

...not sure I really care ABOUT.

and too tbh.

arfishy · 25/10/2008 11:38

But twig, you're just making it worse. Each time a member leaves it Mumsnet gets more Bountified. Stay and be the voice of reason.

ledodgy · 25/10/2008 11:43

Twig I can totally understand why you're going I'm teetering on the edge myself atm. I will miss you.

twinsetandpearls · 25/10/2008 11:46

Twig has been here for years if she i leaving, and I hope he doesn't, she is entitled to announce it. I will be announcing my departure.

hifi · 25/10/2008 11:57

unfortunately or not mums net is evolving, there will be casualties along the way.

darkpunk · 25/10/2008 11:59

ah twiglett...come on...you told me i come across as childish and unwordly...you're right, i am...we have bonded.

don't go.

mazzystartled · 25/10/2008 12:00

I will be very disappointed if Twiglett leaves

Arfishy, quite.

It's not the saying goodbye that's a problem. It is just really quite ungracious to devalue something that has, presumably over many years, given a you entertainment, information, support.
