SOME PEOPLE ON MUMSNET ARE SO RUDE

And it pees me right off. You write a perfectly innocent comment and people think they can just pounce on you. I've seen it so many times. People say nasty things they'd never say if they were looking in someone's face. They forget that there is actually a HUMAN BEING on the other end of their remarks.

I've been on here long enough to know that that is the way mumsnet works, but it doesn't make it right.

There should be a section for people who just want to have a polite conversation.

flounce flounce flounce flounce flounce

And they're cliquey.

flounce

And no, I'm not drunk.

NB: the fact that I've had no sleep for a fortnight has no bearing on this post WHATSOEVER.

do they?ach well as anti-monarchist republican i would have thoughts on that.

Only actually carrie & Justine can claim to be non-hoi polloi since it is their site and all that

we are MN citizens not MN subjects beholding to some with regal delusions of grandeur

zippitippitoes · 26/08/2008 10:13

i always take that as tongue in cheek

you dont?

scottishmummy · 26/08/2008 10:15

if people are referring to others as royalty/elite then their tongue is too firmly in da wrong cheek

zippitippitoes · 26/08/2008 10:16

whenever people do the regular clique royalty stuff the perdon who says it never says who they mean

probably because they would look mad if they did

it exists only in the imagination

we all experience mn differently

its like a book

scottishmummy · 26/08/2008 10:20

Tis true Scottishmummy, it is sad. But it does happen.

And IME they do name check the MNer when they are talking about elite/royalty

pinkmunkee · 26/08/2008 12:10

Thank you LynetteScavo for the G+T. I've calmed down a bit now!

ghosty- I personally love catching up with flouncers' corner occasionally, it holds such potential!

I agree nickytwotimes it is worth the occasional skirmish. It's amazing though that the same site who has brought me back from the brink of desperation at times, can also drive me round the bend!

Most days it doesn't matter of course, you just forget the minute you move away from the screen. But on a bad day it can add to the list! I have actually seen threads on here where one group of mn-ers are pointing out threads to each other that they can go and be mean on! I can see they find it funny, but sometimes it's just not.

God, do I sound like a killjoy? Dammit, I'll have to change my name AGAIN.

It's true I guess. I love my ante-natal thread. Everyone so lovely and supportive. no bitchiness. But I'm severely sleep deprived with nothing to do during long nights so end up trawling active threads which I guess is just asking for trouble.

AnnVan · 26/08/2008 12:16

MN royalty?? Who??
How does the succession work?

scottishmummy · 26/08/2008 12:21

any royalty off with their head.republican state of MN no despotic royalty allowed

pinkmunkee · 26/08/2008 12:55
