Lordy Lordy Lordy, how scary does this film sound???
Wild horses couldn't drag me to see it! How do people go to such scary films? How can they be so brave?

I thought it was shite, I jumped a few times but I wouldn't say it affected me.

PurpleOne · 07/12/2009 03:01

and there is an alternate ending too.

the uk one was so much better. the us one was so lame.

watched it agan tonight (how i found out about alternate ending) but dd1 loved it

littlepollyflinders · 09/12/2009 20:35

Oh NO! Two endings! I don't know which one I've seen (ok I did engage in an illegal activity watching a dvd at home - dd got it from her dad and she likes to watch a scary film on the sofa when she's feeling poorly )

(I know at this point I'm supposed to say SPOILER ALERT!!)
The one I saw ended with police breaking into the house...

I really enjoyed it btw - thought it very well done.

What's the other ending?

MissGreatBritain · 10/12/2009 09:11

Thought it was okay, but not even slightly scary (unless you believe in demons of course). A good idea, and nice to see a non-skinny girl up there on the big screen.

QueenThistle · 11/12/2009 08:52

Yes two endings.

The film was made in 2007 but never found a release. Fast forward to 2009, and after an online petition signed by a million people the film was given a release albeit with a new ending.

Original 2007 ending is the one you saw, littlepolly. I have this version too.

Not sure which ending you had in the UK.

The 2009 ending is pretty much seen in the trailer.

God. Colossal disappointment. Not scary.

I found myself getting distracted by details.
Ordinary-looking actors; good.
Unfeasibly huge apartment, given her non-existent job and their youth but-how-else-would-you-fit-all-the-cameras- and-lighting-in?
When she gets dragged out of bed I thought how she would have got carpet burns had they not thought of the polished wood.

But then I watched "Let the Right One In" - utterly fab - and found myself checking out the classic IKEA products in the domestic interiors.

DH and I just watched it and thought it was utter tripe. Not at lal scary, a teensy bit creepy in places, but so not a fright-fest.
We've seen the end where the police break into the house ... what's the other one? Anyone know?

MattBellamysMuse · 30/12/2009 15:49

Echt, he was a day trader so I presume he made a fair bit of dough.
Just finished watching this and I was scared witless (in the middle of the day
I started watching it last night when everyone else was in bed but after an hour decided this what not a good idea and went to bed (slightly nervous).
Can someone tell me what the alternate ending was please?

SPOILER ALERT

The one I saw has the police breaking in after Katie had knifed Micah to death and then sat rocking in her bedroom for 18 hours.

MattBellamysMuse · 30/12/2009 16:02

This explains alternate endings. So which one was the one shown in the cinema? The one I saw appears to be the original.
