She is just beautiful, I love her hair and her Doc Martins and black ankle socks (I used to dress like that in my youth)

And I love its quirkiness.

Anyone else?

Not seen it, but I love quirky.

Will check it out.

I saw it a few years ago and loved it!
I'll definately have to watch it again I think.

TrinityIsGettingABabyRhino · 12/04/2009 09:41

yes I love that film too

mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 09:42

It was £2.98 on Amazon. C'est magnifique, non?

Yes, a perfect film. I love love love it. We loved it so much that we considered the name Amelie for our dd, but realised everyone would just call her Emily instead. I think I'll have to dig it out to watch again. Have you seen Juno MrsM? That too is quirky, but funny rather than sweet.

mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 10:00

No I havent, but will have a look!

mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 10:40

It's a fab film. I have another one of hers to watch this evening, Priceless, something about a millionaire but I don't know if it's meant to be any good.

I love it too. My best friend introduced me to it and then I had to buy my own copy.

Curiousmama · 12/04/2009 10:51

I'll have to watch it sounds good.

Sorry to hear about your friend mrsjammi.

Curiousmama · 12/04/2009 10:52

Just checked it's 2.99 on play.com and that has free delivery.

themoon66 · 12/04/2009 10:55

I don't know anyone who has seen this film and disliked it.

It makes me want to have an adventure getting lost in Paris on a moped......

Curiousmama · 12/04/2009 10:55

Ordered it, how easy is that Can't wait now to see it.

Curiousmama · 12/04/2009 10:57

Has anyone seen the movie Paris? It's set in Paris and subtitled. Funnily enough it has a heart problem storyline too. It's not what I'd call sweet but dp mum and I all enjoyed it.

BitOfFunnyBunny · 12/04/2009 11:02

I couldn't get past about 20 minutes with Amelie- too saccharine for me. Although from these comments I might give it another try. Has anyone seen A Very Long Engagement with Audrey Tatou? That was great.

thegrowlygus · 12/04/2009 11:04

It is a lovely film. And she is gorgeous.

She is also in "a very long engagement" which is a good too. And I have been to the village that appears in it for all of about 2 seconds (the one with the well). What a claim to fame.

schneebly · 12/04/2009 11:04

Amelie is one of my favourite films - love it in all it's quirkiness. Loved Juno as well.

thegrowlygus · 12/04/2009 11:06

Have Juno on sky + so will perhaps get round to watching that tonight.

BitOfFunnyBunny · 12/04/2009 11:21

Gosh I loathed Juno! All that smart-arse wise-cracking-who talks like that? ALL THE TIME? Very irksome.

Thunderduck · 12/04/2009 16:55

I loved Amelie. So many wonderful and interesting characters in it.

I don't think I'd like Juno though, from the little I've seen of it, it seems to try too hard to be different.
