What's your favourite disaster movie?

Just watched Dante's Peak which wasn't bad but wouldn't be in my top 5.

Off the top of my head I think my favourites are:
The Towering Inferno
Titanic

Towering Inferno was great.

Day After Tomorrow was good.

Armageddon.

Armegeddon was great. Much better than the other asteroid film that came out about the same time. Can't remember what it was called though.

Towering |nferno, probably because I saw it on holiday at the cinema when I was about 10 and it seemed AMAZING!!

I prefer epidemics disaster movies - "the cassandra crossing" style

The Poseidin adventure - now that's a classic.

I like Space Cowboys (I think it just about qualifies as a disaster movie)

I really love those 'disaster' documentaries about future mega-tsunamis and super-volcanos.

I hated Titanic

I quite like the one with Dustin Hoffman and the infected monkeys, it's called Outbreak I think

I loved Cassandra crossing!!!

The poseidon adventure and Avalanche, with rock hudson.

Dunno if tougue in cheek ones count, but Airplane is a classic

Titanic is just a rip off of A Night to Remember, except for the fetus and Kate bits. There are entire sequences which are directly copied, even the old people on the bed bit.

most hilarious is the really old titanic film 'atlantic' very slow moving but hilarious

I am Legend is a remake of the Omega Man with Charlton Heston, but is much much closer to the book I Am Legend which is superb

I think I'd go for Towering Inferno as the Number 1

Califrau, I think that's a whole different movie

Poseidon Adventure definitely had the biggest impact on me first time I saw it (when I was about 10)
