I watched it today as I liked the book, I enjoyed it. Has anyone else seen it yet?

Its really quite violent so may not be a good choice for her

I already have tickets,oh well!!

Sturmundcalm · 26/01/2026 18:43

I don't like violence but just turned my head - the bulk of the violence was disturbing because of the psychological torture element rather than the violence itself - if that makes sense!

I thought it was nonsense but loved it - saw it on a dreich Monday night and it was exactly what I needed 😂

I thought it was awful. I didn’t read the book but if it’s anything like the film I’m glad. It was bland, cheesy and
utterly predictable . Defo would not recommend.

Daytimetellyqueen · 26/01/2026 20:55

I really enjoyed it! Thought it was entertaining & both lead actresses great!

6namechange3 · 03/02/2026 23:03

Loved it, over the top and ridiculous, good to see in the cinema, the mainly female audience was really enjoying the scares and the feminist revenge ending.

ilovesooty · 03/02/2026 23:48

I saw it last week. I really enjoyed it.

I saw it tonight, loved it! It was so silly and like panto,in fact the whole cinema which was packed ,was booing and hissing and cheering 😂

TeaRoseTallulah · 20/02/2026 22:56

I thought they'd toned down the violence in the film,I found the book much worse.

Pistachiomonster · 20/02/2026 23:04

It’s totally trashy and also very predictable but so bad in places it’s good. The main house and hotel room are gorgeous.

One thing I never understood in the book, was the 'punishment' of having heavy books on housemaid's stomach. Totally lame no? I was glad they changed that.

Books piled on you for hours on end would be awful!

I haven't read the book, but I really enjoyed the film.

cupfinalchaos · 21/03/2026 17:55

Is it on Netflix? Sorry if someone’s already asked

As far as I know, it is not available on Netflix. I watched it via Amazon Prime Video.
