Repels big time: Stanley Tucci I hated him so much in The lovely bones I was actually happy with the way the film ended but now I can’t watch him in anything not even his Italian tv show.
I can’t bear Margie Clarke letter to Brezhnev her accent grates on me

Draws me: Jodie Cromer, John Sims (reminds me of a crush), Dervla Kirwen I loved Ballykissangel and Pauline Quirke. I love Nicolas Cage accent.

Anything Sam Rockwell is in is usually pretty good.

I can't stand Ryan Reynolds, his smug face rips my knitting.

What's wrong with Tom Cruise?

I don't think any actor or actress puts me off anything. Can't think of any off the top of my head.

Also repelled by Keira Knightly, just acts with her pout and is such a luvvie

Repel : Bill Murray, The Hogwarts Three.

Attracts : Michael Sheen. He has produced some fantastic performances playing real people over the years so if he’s in a film based on real events I will usually give it a go. Kevin Spacey also did fantastic, interesting work until his career was destroyed by allegations.

Repels : Johnny Depp. Awful actor. Crap films. Not for me.

He always seems to play the same characters. And his face isn’t one I want to pay to look at.

I don’t mean he’s ugly - he’s conventionally attractive, there’s just nothing going on behind the eyes. Give me a Michael Sheen or a Timothy Spall any day - men whose performances convey humanity and warmth.

If it's got Anthony Hopkins in it, I will watch it.

He seems like a nice bloke in real life, but every film I’ve seen him in, he comes across as the banalest of the banal.

I forgot to add Jodie Comer. Her performance in Prima Facie was mesmerising.

Oh god and Keira Knightly with her one facial expression that makes her look constipated. I tried to watch her version of Pride and Prejudice after loving the series with Colin Firth as a young teen. Still regret it 🤣
