RP is so good but on the whole I found the film disappointing which is a shame as I was looking forward to it so much and had high hopes.

I watched it today, I thought it was a good story but it was too meandering, the storytelling needed to be tighter. There seemed to be characters that just didn’t go anywhere. It’s a real shame because it could have been so much better.

Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing this but a few not-great reviews and several watches of the trailer later I'm losing the enthusiasm for it. I wish I could think where I've seen the bloke in it before, though.

I thought the first half hour was excellent and was a really intriguing setup. But it was just too much for me - too visceral, too close to the bone for some things. I was looking at the floor for a lot of the time and dp is much too kind to keep me watching something if I'm suffering.

A couple of people walked out halfway through.

Ruffalo and Collette were fun together.

There were several times during it where I was bored to tears. Such a shame because it could have been brilliant. The (too few) good bits were really good, the rest of it was dull.

The trailer looked really fun! And it was to start with then went and bit odd and didn't need to be as long as it was! Plot kept changing or to me it seemed it did.

The little alien things were cute.

Saw this last night with two friends, we were all a bit non plussed. I found some of the death scenes very hard to watch, particularly the gassing and it felt wrong that it was meant to be amusing. I would have left if I wasn't the one driving.

Still I suppose it was good to see the cinema full for a change.

Yes a gassing, repeated at least once - I came to the conclusion that drawing parallels to the concentration camps was deliberate through that and using him as a human lab rat, but maybe I was overthinking. Either way I found it quite traumatic.

We enjoyed it, me, DH and DS16 but its the kind of thing we are into anyway.
I have read the book and there is a lot more that goes on so they did well to convert it to a film of that length.

Saw this last night. I thought it started strongly but descended a little into farce and could have done with a good edit.

It wasn't what I was expecting. I thought it would take a different direction and I didn't dislike it but I didn't like it either. Odd film

I saw the trailer that was enough for me. Shame as I love Toni Collette.

I enjoyed it and thought it was an interesting Sci-fi. I didn't love the death scenes and it did feel like we were watching Mickey be tortured again and again. I agree it could have used a stronger edit and been about 15 minutes shorter.

I saw it on Saturday and really liked it. I agree it was a tad too long but they did fit a lot in. I'm normally a bit sqimish when it comes to films but nothing really bothered me with this one.

Went to see this with low expectations but DH really wanted to watch it so DD and I agreed to go. After an hour of repetitive death scenes and sex scenes that were pretty cringe to watch with teenage DD, we left him there and came home with still not much clue to what the film was meant to be about unless it actually is meant to be a parody of Trump, Musk and Hitler. Really tedious and an hour of my life I won’t get back.

I liked it. It's a bit too long, but it felt apt to be watching a film about a megalomaniac politician. at this time. I'm not keen on onscreen violence, but didn't find anything disturbing, so a bit surprised at the comments above to be honest, it's cartoonish not graphic in nature

I like Tim Key, who was doing a typical Tim Key performance.

It's not ground breaking but it's worth a watch.

Just watched it with my DH. He dropped off to sleep in the middle, no surprise there poor old boy lol.

Glad I saw it. Deaths didn’t bother me. Torture of alien baby did.
Not what I was expecting and thought several times shit I encouraged DD2 to watch this with her boyfriend (they saw it last week) 😳

Watched this earlier today, the trailer had so much potential but quite honestly it was 💩 I wanted to leave but didn’t want to disturb my friend

Mickey? He’s the dude in Twilight! The penny dropped right at the end for me. We just got home from seeing it this afternoon. I’d not heard anything about it at all. Didn’t know it was based on a book. I feel like it was supposed to be allegorical in some was. I found it very odd.

Ruffalo seemed a bit Elon Musky to me.

I haven't seen Twilight @W0tnow , so that's not it. He just looked familiar but I'm obviously too old to remember 🤣

I've read the book which is part of the reason I decided to skip the film, and I haven't changed my mind reading this. I daresay I'll watch it when it comes on TV.

DP and I watched it in 4DX which was probably the only reason I didn’t walk out! It was pretty pants IMO.

I loved the first half. Then it got really silly. And was definitely badly cut and too long.
