Anyone seen this? Just finished it. Not a bundle of laughs, but I found it very thought provoking. Jodie Comer outstanding as a new mother surviving and mothering in the context of an climate disaster.

Does thought provoking translate as slow? The trailer did nothing for me but it's the type of thing I'd usually watch. Hmm

I have the attention span of a gnat; my Netflix profile is a long list of icons with the progress bar halfway across. But I finished this in one sitting. I really liked it. It was very intimate and personal, as disaster movies go, and the characters were very relatable.

My favourite thing about it, though, was all the mother-baby interaction. It brought back loads of memories of when my kids were tiny. You don't normally get that in a film. The little snuffly noises while he was breastfeeding were amazing. I'd watch it again just for those.

It's in the main not action packed. I guess some sections (not long) could be described as slow, but my concentration isn't amazing and I found it very engaging.

Yes totally! A rare, touching, evocative portrayal of motherhood and the small joys of an infant. He was quite happy with his very committed, communicative mum, despite the circumstances.

Yes I found all the characters very well drawn, realistic, relatable in the main.

I really liked this for the intimate focus on motherhood. It just showed how strong women are how despite a climate crisis they were already everything their babies needed.

I did have a lot of anxiety throughout They were very vunerable on their own.

Just finished. I agree with the comments about the mother baby relationship. But otherwise I found it slow and depressing.

I liked it because each scene was quite short. No faffing around!

I also found myself wondering regularly how anyone could walk such distances with an increasingly large baby strapped to their front, why the baby never seemed to get ill despite frequently being exposed to cold, wet weather, and what she did about clean nappies.

Enjoyed it, love her as an actress. Only complaint is all the boob shots, and a vagina one. Wtf? Thought we were stopping with the gratuitous female nudity..

I don’t think it’s gratuitous in the context of childbirth and breastfeeding though?

I thought it was one of those films that was so slow, that the only way to get through it
Was to pick up on the massive plot holes.

I watched it. I liked it but I think it wasn't as good as it could have been. Great cast and premise but never reached its potential.

Cromer was brilliant. The film was a bit disappointing in the story.
The portrayal of motherhood was the best I have ever seen.
The unrealisticness of the baby always being in well fitting clean clothes was annoying.

i did notice at one point the blanket they were on was So very clean.
however i loved the car stealing

@Fulshaw no didn't mind those subtle bits. But there were quite a few full on boob shots nothing to do with breastfeeding. Felt pointless and catering to men

Now you've said that I agree re the clothes. I also came away not understanding what natural disaster had happened and why it was so bad.

The portrayal of motherhood was raw and the sisterhood she finds with other woman was well drawn

I agree. I think it was very optimistic about the chance of survival in these circumstances. The chances of going back and rebuilding are just not going to happen.

But, it was a really good film other than that and she was excellent as always.
