I'm enjoying this, what qualities make a "Christmas film"? For me there's the obvious ones that involve santa or similar, then there're the ones that simply happen at Christmas time. There's one we often watch that i can never remember the name of, it has jude law, jack black... grrr off to Google...

The Holiday! Love that.

I second The Bishop's Wife (Cary Grant)

Muppets Christmas Carol!

This, plus Nightmare before Christmas

I watched The Bishops Wife last night. Beautiful film. I'm nominating Planes, Trains and Automobiles because I love Steve Martin and it's a great feel good film.

I'm always surprised Arthur Christmas doesn't get more love on these lists. We love it.

Technically PT&A is a Thanksgiving film rather than a Christmas one, but it's so good. Funny and poignant. Love it.

Love them all but I really love watching The lion the witch and the wardrobe at Christmas too
