Think there’s a few I want to see. A few horrors are coming out this year I will see. I am trying to avoid Barbie 😂

The cinema release of the Prince of Egypt London Musical. Its going to bring back happy memories of seeing it live.

I've watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding 1, and will watch 2 tomorrow, to refresh my memory before I go and see 3 next week!

HoppingDragon · 09/09/2023 22:21

The haunting of Venice

We watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 yesterday. It was really funny, but also sad and nostalgic in places. Beautiful scenes of Greece. I would highly recommend if you are a fan!

Joker: Folie à Deux and Napoleon both starring Joaquin Phoenix, general release in UK October and November IIRC.

He is an amazing actor.

Past Lives for me this week. I missed a preview of it last week, but I think it's out from Thursday or Friday Smile

Cobweb was OK! It won't win any prizes, but I enjoyed it.

What did you think of Past Lives? I saw it this week and the reviews were fantastic but I found it a just bit OK.

I loved Past Lives (and cried so much at the end I had to wait until everybody else had gone before i got up and left 😭🤣), but I can see how it could be frustrating to watch as it's very gentle and nothing really happens, which is both what made it frustrating and also what made it perfect (for those who like a slow burner, anyway).

Do bear in mind I had also just sat through Nun 2, so given that as a frame of reference even the trailers were like watching Citizen Kane.

I have a ticket for Dumb Money on Monday, which I'm looking forward to more than I thought I was Smile

Looking forward to Bolan's Shoes even if I do have to track down a cinema that's screening it

I do agree that the message is sad - that some things are not meant to be and that we all look back fondly at life and wonder what if.

Just saw the Nun 2 earlier, it was really good! 😱

A Haunting in Venice is a borefest

cassiatwenty · 21/09/2023 11:05

@Medlady I meant to see but now...I don't think I will.

SquirrelSoShiny · 21/09/2023 11:14

MEG2 was so terrible it was entertaining!

I want to see Dune 2 looking forward to it.

Britpopbaby · 21/09/2023 13:01

I’m hesitant to say because I don’t want my anticipation to be wasted! I’ve seen some good films that I haven’t really pegged my hope on ( Blue Beetle) and films that I have looked forward to ( Ant Man and the Quantum Realm or whatever they call it) that has been rubbish!

I wonder how the writer’s strike will affect the films coming out in the future? Will we be in a post Covid situation again in regard to the cinema?

Nousername94 · 21/09/2023 13:30

I’ve been to baby cinema this morning, there was a screening of ‘Barbie’ and the tickets are only £6 and I could take my toddler so thought I would go.
I was very bored 🥱

I've seen The Equaliser 3 - not as good as the first two but it does have Denzel in it 😍

Spectre8 · 22/09/2023 12:05

Meg 2 was just that easy going movie u go to see, you know its ridiculous but fun to watch bit like the fast and furious movies.

Equaliser 3 felt like it was a cross between John wick and Jack reacher, not overly impressed ro be honest.

Looking forward to Dune 2.

Sausagenbacon · 09/10/2023 20:10

Napoleon
And a weird one with Emma Stone. Can't remember the name.

LastHives · 09/10/2023 20:15

I'm looking forward to Napoleon as I really like to watch Joaquin Phoenix acting.

LastHives · 09/10/2023 20:15

John Wick is the only movie I have ever walked out of.

That's probably Poor Things - I'm seeing it on Sunday at the London Film Festival although I'm less than convinced. I'll still go though Smile
