If you are fan of the show give it a swerve. I caught a little bit of Mark Kaermode’s review and he said it’s boring and I could not agree more. It’s like they took everything about Luther that made it a must watch and then highly sanitised it and what is left is just a run of the mill police show with a pantomime villain and a little bit of wanna be Bond thrown in. If they were going to go down the film route then they should have picked one of the better episodes and expanded it to make it for a film. Such a disappointment and poor use of good actors.

I have never seen Luther the series but watched this as have heard the series is good. Thought it was terrible & will certainly now not bother watching any of the episodes. Has probably saved me a fair amount of time in that respect

The series was actually good though, there was so much in it that was missing from this film.

So disappointed with this, seriously too much gratuitous violence & so far-fetched. I was a huge fan of the series, although still have nightmares about the man crawling along the bus...

It was absolute pants! Bad acting, really bad continuity and such a shite storyline.

It was absolutely dreadful. To be fair, I've only really liked Idris Elba as Stringer Bell in the Wire.

Can someone explain what it was that put Luther in prison? I think I've only seen the first series, so wasn't sure if that was a link to the TV series or just a huge unexplained plot hole?

We weren't impressed, glad we watched at home. It was like a poor man's bond.

I think it was Idris singing the end credit song?

Was so looking forward to this, unfortunately it’s truly awful. By the end of the ice cold water car dive I wasn’t bothered if Luther didn’t make it.

I'm only watching Luther because the most gorgeous Idris Elba is in it, though to be fair I watch everything he is in dreaming away so as for the storyline is about I couldn't tell ya lol. I'm fighting my mate over him at the moment as she's got a mega crush on him too, hmmph lol. Oh to think he could be the new James Bond 😋.

The part where the police chief heard a recording of her daughter... Nope.
