Best romantic movies?

Looking for a similar moving to pride and prejudice or the notebook. Something that isn't a comedy or cheesy. Where it's not easy love, but a good ending. I need a good cry!

I watched seeking a friend for the end of the world last night and I was blown away. One of the most oddly romantic films I've watched. I was sat open mouthed after it, I loved it

Streisand and Redford in The Way We Were. Very sad ending and you get Redford in a naval uniform, which is a wonderful thing.

Une Liaison Pornographique — which should be far better known as it’s insanely romantic. Sergi Lopez and Nathalie Baye play middle aged people who post/reply to an ad for someone interested in a particular type of sexual activity (never specified) and meet for sex at a hotel regularly (we don’t go inside the hotel room), and gradually fall in love.

Also agree about the Persuasion with Amanda Root and Ciarán Hinds — not the recent horror with Dakota Fanning, where Wentworth is weeping by the ends of the opening credits.

Just watched the Lucky One with Zac Efron - pretty good!

365 Days on Netflix. The guy is in love with the girl, so he kidnaps her and plans to keep her for a year until she falls in love with him. It’s not exactly a weepy movie but it’s worth a watch! (it makes 50 Shades look like a Disney movie)

That doesn't sound very romantic

Brief Encounter (1945). Absolutely brilliant. The dilemmas are very relatable and the characters are well rounded, don't be put off by it being an "old" film. The central story stands the test of time, unlike a lot of other films of the era which can be pleasantly nostalgic but less relatable.

Lost in translation is the worst movie I have ever seen.

Have you ever been to Japan Boobot1? I loved Lost in translation because it really reminded me of how I felt on layovers in Japan when I was crew. My boyfriend at the time, who I saw it with, hated it too.

Recently watched The Last Letter from your lover. Really enjoyed it. Definitely not a life of easy love but very satisfying ending.
