Encanto. Did your DC like it?

Did your DC like Encanto? We recently bought Disney Plus and we scrolled through, Dd wanted to watch Encanto and within ten minutes she announced "Mummy this is my best favourite film ever" My Ds who normally says he doesn't like Disney made a fuss and grumbled about it for a while but soon warmed up to it as well. I think I hear that We Don't Talk About Bruno song ten times a day, god knows what they put their poor Dad through with it at the weekends 😂

DS is obsessed and I mean obsessed. We put it on a few weeks after all the hype not thinking much of it but DS loved it.

He asks for it multiple times a day!

Both of mine love it, and so do I 😁 the music is brilliant, we bought the CD for the car (much to DH's dismay)

The flashback seen of Abuella and her husband had me in tears though

My ds tells me he’s a teenager about 50 times a day (too grown up for toast cut into triangles, was mens shower gel etc) but he must have seen encanto 20 times. He never was a huge Disney fan but he says he can identify with every character. He sings drip drip drip when I ask him to get his laundry together 😂

Mine love it too, despite not being particular fans of Disney, and I enjoyed it too. We also find ourselves singing the songs a lot!

DD2 liked it as much as the next person. DD1 (14) was obsessed Grin. Knows all the songs and watched it quite a few times. She's really into animation though.

My 2 DS age 4 and 5 LOVE it! DS5 puts the music on in the car every time. They don’t watch many other films, but this they love. I love it too to be fair, I cried the first time at the end when they give Mirabel the door knob!

Dd 14 feels the grandmother ruined everyone’s lives and then was instantly forgiven and she’s not down with that, but dh loves the songs and often instigates a we don’t talk about Bruno singalong in the car. Ds 11 loves it and sat with me for the whole singalong version on Disney +.

Do recommend singalong version, LMM lyrics are super fast, nice to have the words up. Also planning to watch Hamilton with subtitles at some point for same reasons.

Yes! Lost track of the number of times we have watched it and my child demands the music for any car journey.

The songs are constantly running around my head so it seems to have become the soundtrack to my life 😳

I work in a few primary schools and the kids all love it! They were completely obsessed for a while after it came out, but it's died down a little bit now. My dc really like it too and they are teenagers! I don't quite get the hype tbh - I don't think it's as good as lots of other Disney films. I do like some of the songs though.

Nope, DS 7 and 3 both indifferent at best but probably more towards actively disliked. They definitely wouldn't watch it again and I'd be amazed if they recognised a song. DH and I didn't enjoy it either, I was disappointed after all the hype.

I am the anomaly that hates it. The songs are awful, the story is terrible. Everything is bad. I prefer Onwards or Moana. Moana isn't annoying.

DS(7) loved it, and I usually can't get him to sit through anything where people keep breaking into song.

I think he is in love with Luisa (the one who can lift donkeys).

My 3yo DD was obsessed with it during Xmas hols and watched it daily. I think some of those songs have only just left my head. Her absolute fave was Luisa's song- Pressure one and that was my fave too. Her fave character was Luisa
We don't talk about Bruno was a strong second fave song for us!
