Somehow, ended up watching this on tv today. There’s a lot of sexual innuendoes in it, and I felt as ‘a modern woman’ I shouldn’t be enjoying it.

However, actually quite liked the film Blush.

Yes, some are awful but some are still very funny - Screaming is probably my favourite ("Frying tonight?!") but also Constable, Teacher, Regardless, Cabby, Kyber, Follow that Camel, all the hospital ones, Cleo - all still very funny.

Watching carry on at sea right now.

My children used to love the slapstick elements of Carry On when they were younger and grew to enjoy the innuendoes as they matured! I have very fond memories of them watching Carry on Dick and laughing uproariously at the raspberry blowing at the end 🤣

Carry on Screaming is my absolute favorite "Foul, Feet, Smell, Something, Horrible"still makes me laugh Grin and "this ear" "yes that there" Grin

It's so good to see this thread. I've loved these films all my life. Khyber, Jack, Screaming, England, Behind, Girls.

I don't care that they're wrong, they feel so right!

JohannSebastianBach · 23/04/2022 22:48

Infamy, Infamy! They've all got it in for me!

I used to live next door to Kenneth Williams many years ago in London.

Thanks ladies. I'm currently watching Carry on Don't lose your head. Loads are on ITV hub if you fancy 90mins of 70s humour.

I love them too, at your convenience is my favourite, followed by matron and girls. I love the fashions and the sets, they are like stepping into a time capsule.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/04/2022 00:18

Ooh (matron!) what was he like?

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 24/04/2022 00:19

That was for @Createabitofuntruenews

I nearly watched Carry on Henry this afternoon just to see Bettina (Barbara Windsor) say, “Your majesty, it is a great honour. The king has done me”.

Carry on Girls was on last year and aside from laughing at Bernard Bresslaw in drag I was envious of June Whitfield’s stylish outfits. She was playing a female battleaxe councillor opposed to the beauty contest. I will never sneer at 1973 fashion again!

Oh I do love a Carry On film. I once bumped into Fenella Fielding (from Carry One Screaming) in Sunwin House and had a proper fan girl moment 😂

No disrespect to Bradford and its fine department stores but what was Fenella Fielding doing in one of them?

Oh the joy of the Comte de la Plume de ma Tante and Citizen Camembert.
