Carry on Henry - guilty enjoyment.

Somehow, ended up watching this on tv today. There’s a lot of sexual innuendoes in it, and I felt as ‘a modern woman’ I shouldn’t be enjoying it.

However, actually quite liked the film .

Yes, some are awful but some are still very funny - Screaming is probably my favourite ("Frying tonight?!") but also Constable, Teacher, Regardless, Cabby, Kyber, Follow that Camel, all the hospital ones, Cleo - all still very funny.

Watching carry on at sea right now.

My children used to love the slapstick elements of Carry On when they were younger and grew to enjoy the innuendoes as they matured! I have very fond memories of them watching Carry on Dick and laughing uproariously at the raspberry blowing at the end 🤣

Carry on Screaming is my absolute favorite "Foul, Feet, Smell, Something, Horrible"still makes me laugh and "this ear" "yes that there"

I love them too, at your convenience is my favourite, followed by matron and girls. I love the fashions and the sets, they are like stepping into a time capsule.

I nearly watched Carry on Henry this afternoon just to see Bettina (Barbara Windsor) say, “Your majesty, it is a great honour. The king has done me”.

Carry on Girls was on last year and aside from laughing at Bernard Bresslaw in drag I was envious of June Whitfield’s stylish outfits. She was playing a female battleaxe councillor opposed to the beauty contest. I will never sneer at 1973 fashion again!

No disrespect to Bradford and its fine department stores but what was Fenella Fielding doing in one of them?
