I am renting dvds quite a bit as my dh is working away. I get some great free trial deals so at the moment never pay:-) just type free dvd trial into a search engine and there are loads.

But I am running out of ideas to put on my list so need help.

Do you have any good films that you would recommend renting. Not really into horror or mega action type movies. But anything drama, comedy, chick flick whatever....

Need some ideas, thanks.

This is really useful girls. We have a lovefilm subscription too.
Burnt by the sun sounds good but I really can't do sad. I cry at ABSOLUTELY everything these days I feel so pathetic.
Anyone see Sprited Away? I even cried at that

whats a good postal dvd company to use? have evenings with nothing to do

MrsDoobaubles · 16/12/2004 10:13

I was actually surprised I enjoyed In the Cut, I only watched it after Meg Ryan hashed up her interview with Michael Parkinson. I can't stand her in it - she takes herself far too seriously, I think. I was very surpried to think Michael Ruffalo very sexy too. Very strange because I hate moustaches!!

We use lovefilm, misdee. We do it online, it's really easy. After reading this thread out list is getting longer and longer - we have over 60 dvd's qeued!

I know exactly what you mean Mrs Doobaubles. It was done by Jane Campion and she got the best out of Harvey Kietel in The Piano didn't she.

Marina, we watched Goodbye Lenin last night and it was fab. Really funny, not in a laugh-out-loud way but lots of little chuckles. Distinctly un-German sense of humour!

bakedpotatohoho · 16/12/2004 10:38

right, that's going on my list

bakedpotato · 21/01/2005 14:12

resurrecting this thread, i need help.
if anyone else is looking for inspiration, how about One Hour Photo. fantastic. Mean Girls also good.
Hugely disappointed by Swimming Pool. I thought i was going to love it. but it just went bonkers at the end.

Thought One Hour Photo was really naff and predictable.
How about Looking For Richard? Just come out on DVD, excellent.

We saw Saving Grace on Sky last night & laughed out loud. Very good - strange topic of growing drugs in Cornwall (Port Isaac) - but a great British comedy !

bluesky · 24/01/2005 20:03

Whizzz, we saw that too and LOVED it, so good and so funny.
