Trading Places has to be up there.

As does Brewster's Millions.

SproutsMexicain · 14/05/2019 10:44

Aliens
Terminator 2

MockerstheFeManist · 14/05/2019 11:15

The Godfather pt 1 and 2

Seconded

Alien and Blade Runner also mentioned in dispatches.

longtompot · 14/05/2019 11:23

Amelie. Its a love story told in a quirky way, with clever use of sounds and imagery. Plus it has a wonderful soundtrack.

What Dreams May Come - a Robin Williams film that simply tugs at my soul.

Baskerville · 22/05/2019 23:43

Key Largo and His Girl Friday.

Baskerville · 22/05/2019 23:43

I second Das Boot. I saw the directors cut at the cinema about 20 years ago, having watched it previously on TV, it was absolutely incredible on the big screen. The characters, the claustrophobic setting, the sounds, the tension.

ritchiebaby · 25/05/2019 19:02

My fav is/was "Mama Mia" , since watched newer film ( Here we go again ) I'm a big softy like animation love stories like " Brave ", " Train your Dragons" lost faith in "Love Actually " and " Pretty Woman" one older man told me " for every goose theres a gander"

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/05/2019 21:30

The Exorcist
Scary enough, and deeply sad at the end with the ultimate sacrifice from Fr Karras .

Gth1234 · 27/05/2019 16:55

You can't pick just one film.

Spudina · 27/05/2019 16:57

Tricky. Probably The Godfather.

Gth1234 · 27/05/2019 16:59

I can't even pick just one western!

Shane (better than Pale Rider)
Once Upon a time in the West
Destry (this is the audie murphy remake, not the James Stewart original)
Unforgiven
various other Clint Eastwood outings.

Jsmith99 · 27/05/2019 17:03

The Godafther part 2, closely followed by the Godfather part 1.

frasersmummy · 27/05/2019 17:06

Dead Man Walking. Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon put so much into their roles, especially Sean, (Plus his hair was a thing of beauty...shallow I know). Made me consider the death penalty in the USA after a lifetime of being pro. It’s a masterpiece as far as I am concerned
