Classic films to watch with 12 year old ds???

We're doing a film night for bank holiday monday, DS is mature for his age and a lot of the films these days are, to us, utter rubbish! What are some heartwarming films that I can watch with him?

I'm posting from my phone, it'll take me a fucking age to type out 11 plot synopses, far longer than it'll take you to read the first few lines of the wiki entry OP! Have a heart, I'll end up with an RSI.*

Also, sorry that I don't know a lot! Me and my DS are obsessed with books and poetry! He's a very advance reader for his age, reads my old Shelley poem collections So we don't watch films that much, but when we do it's usually for a very special occasion

We'll you asked 2hrs ago. Surely you could have googled some of the suggestions by now OP. Reading poetry doesn't teach initiative it seems...

My kids (11 and 14) have enjoyed some of the classic musicals - West Side Story, Sound of Music, Oliver and My Fair Lady all went down well. The Sting (Robert Redford and Paul Newman set up a crime lord with a daring double cross, a comedy "caper" set in the 1930s) was another hit. Or there's always Casablanca......

Ffs. I'll watch some crap chick flick with him instead. All because you didn't want to help. Thanks for that. We were meant to have a special film night.

I just suggested 17 films and wrote a short synopsis of each of them and then showed interest in what you had decided on but never mind just have a little tantrum. Maybe it is because I've never read any Shelley that I dont really get what your issue is.
