We're doing a film night for bank holiday monday, DS is mature for his age and a lot of the films these days are, to us, utter rubbish! Grin What are some heartwarming films that I can watch with him?

I'm posting from my phone, it'll take me a fucking age to type out 11 plot synopses, far longer than it'll take you to read the first few lines of the wiki entry OP! Have a heart, I'll end up with an RSI.*

Cool Runnings is a brilliant film about the Jamaican bobsleigh team (!) who enter the winter Olympics, despite never having seen snow!

can't believe no-one has mentioned it yet - Apollo 131 We watched it this afternoon with ds2 (14) and ds3 (11)

Albatross454 · 06/05/2019 21:51

Also, sorry that I don't know a lot! Me and my DS are obsessed with books and poetry! He's a very advance reader for his age, reads my old Shelley poem collections Blush So we don't watch films that much, but when we do it's usually for a very special occasion Grin

So what film is it going to be?

BikeRunSki · 06/05/2019 22:12

The original Italian Job

I think there’s a bit of sex in Big isn’t there? Or at least adults undressing each other with a view to sex.

Albatross454 · 06/05/2019 22:14

It's in another hour Grin I'm letting him stay up late.

Also, could you not be so salty with me? All I want is to find a good film for me and ds to watch!

We'll you asked 2hrs ago. Surely you could have googled some of the suggestions by now OP. Reading poetry doesn't teach initiative it seems...

butteredbarmbrack · 06/05/2019 22:24

My kids (11 and 14) have enjoyed some of the classic musicals - West Side Story, Sound of Music, Oliver and My Fair Lady all went down well. The Sting (Robert Redford and Paul Newman set up a crime lord with a daring double cross, a comedy "caper" set in the 1930s) was another hit. Or there's always Casablanca......

Albatross454 · 06/05/2019 22:24

Ffs. I'll watch some crap chick flick with him instead. All because you didn't want to help. Thanks for that. We were meant to have a special film night. Smile

I just suggested 17 films and wrote a short synopsis of each of them and then showed interest in what you had decided on but never mind just have a little tantrum. Maybe it is because I've never read any Shelley that I dont really get what your issue is.

BlueMerchant · 06/05/2019 22:30

Romeo & Juliet ( Leo version)

Albatross454 · 06/05/2019 22:37

Bunny, You can't say that I'm having a tantrum when you pulled your own hissy fit after I asked for a short summary, telling me to google it. You could have just ignored it. Anyway, I'm going to go and watch legally bloody blonde Hmm You should also read some Shelley. He's really good. I suggest to a skylark to start with! Haha :)
